FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Dynasty points team. I got an offer of Shane Mclanahan and Scultz for Fried. I won the league this year but like getting youth back. Is Mclanahan too big of any injury risk? Would you do the deal?

Not sure McClanahan is more of an injury risk than Fried right now, as long as you have a month or two to wait on him this season. I'd take him and Schultz over Fried.

I don't think Fried is anything that special in fantasy baseball. He's a better arm for a team in real life. His K/9 isn't elite like other top starters available. Maybe he'll rack up high Win totals with the Yankees, and a solid low 3 or high 2 ERA but that's it. He's also an injury risk as well.
FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Thanks for the replies. I got Fried earlier last year for Gavin Stone and Jordan Hicks. So basically it's swapping out both of them for McClanahan and Schultz.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 I have an offer of 1-1 in the 2025 FYPD for Wyatt Langford. Full Dynasty league. What say you (irrespective of time to the show)? Thanks in advance
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 Roki Sasaki vs Wyatt Langford hmmmmmm risk tolerance I guess? I’d probably take the Asian Dodgers pitcher
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 What a challenge trade, lol... I'd take 1-1 all day though, so much excitement surrounds that guy and his team is loaded.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 Roki has missed time from injury the past few years. Langford 98 wRC in 1st half and 123 wRC in 2nd half last year. Prediction - Langford with a 130+ wRC and Roki struggles and misses time in 2025. I'll take the hitter.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 How sure are people that Roki would be the target? The top is stacked this year. I think I would probably keep Langford, but that's a very interesting proposal. Carlos Danger 1

I need to check this particular leagues draft, if it is June/July for 2025 FYPD or the 2024 FYPD. I have various leagues and they all do it different. For some reason I was thinking the 2025 crop… Spanky__99 1
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 Would never take a pitcher over a hitter in this kind of challenge trade. Langford just put up a very respectable age 22 season, and projects very well, this is without even taking into account the absurd prospect pedigree he carries. Excellent runner with SB potential, power potential, and in no risk of not having a position any time soon, decent defensive metrics for whatever that's worth. Carlos Danger 1
FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 Hey, I have a couple offers that can change the team a fair amount. I won last year so it's a competitive team. I have an opportunity to trade youth for a better chance to win this season. That players that I would lose is: Langford, James Wood, Jackson Jobe, Pasquatino for Bryce Harper, Yordan Alvarez, and Schultz. My OF situation in this scenario would be: Alvarez, Julio Rodriguez, and Luis Robert. And Harper would replace Pasquatino. And i would be replacing Jobe with Schultz. Would you sacrifice youth to win now?
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 I dunno man. Langford and Wood already project very well. I dunno!!!
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2025 Posted January 13, 2025 You guys are high He just plucks these prospects from FA and then trades them for first rounders don’t listen to them. Take Yordan and Bryce and then go and pick up Colt Emerson or something James Wood hits the ball on the ground like 50% of the time
FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 In a fantasy points league who would you rather for 1st, Naylor or Pasquatino?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 1 minute ago, FantasyNewb said: In a fantasy points league who would you rather for 1st, Naylor or Pasquatino? Vinnie projects significantly better although plays in an awful park and the recent track record says Naylor has been better. I'd probably trust the projections though since there's a chance Naylor keeps getting bigger and losing out on PT.
FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 Thanks for the help. One last question, I can trade Pasquatino and Noah Scultz for Luis Castillo. That would also allow me to protect Basallo. So would you take Basallo and Castillo over Pasquatino and Scultz in dynasty?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 How would you guys rank the Dodgers relievers? I'm in a dynasty league that has a SV+HLD/2 category (saves are worth 1 and holds are worth 0.5) so elite setup men can be as good as closers. I have Evan Phillips and Kirby Yates. Phillips is a little expensive so I'm dropping him. Yates is cheap so I might hang on to him. Seems like he might be the 1B closer along with the lefty Scott?

FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Hey, in my points dynasty league, I have 5 OFs. Judge, Soto, Alvarez, Trout, and Carroll. So one player would be on the bench throughout the season. I have Bregman at 3rd. I would love to get a younger player at 3rd. Would you do Carroll for Caminero in this situation? Or stick with the team i have?
