TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I have to do this in a redraft league, right? What are the chances Betts is just bad now and Tork is better this year?
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I have to do this in a redraft league, right? What are the chances Betts is just bad now and Tork is better this year? Redraft I take Betts easily.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I have to do this in a redraft league, right? What are the chances Betts is just bad now and Tork is better this year? very low
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 That’s why I hate getting stuck with 12 on a redraft. You end up with someone like Betts or Bellinger last year
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I have to do this in a redraft league, right? What are the chances Betts is just bad now and Tork is better this year? Id take Torkelson...but I'm biased
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 The other guy got cold feet on trading Mookie so that one didn't happen haha. But I made a couple more trades today. Thoughts? Received: Kershaw (88.6 points) Received: Sanchez (75.5 points) Sent: Wainwright (73.0 points) Sent: Ozuna (81.3 points) Sent: Gray (10.3 points) Received: Berrios (-28.83 points) Sent: Hendricks (46.17 points) I feel like I raised my ceiling but gave up floor. I'm comfortably #1 in the league right now so I might have taken on an unnecessary amount of risk.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Berrios for Hendriks, you made out like a bandit, pure theivery
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Yeah, Berrios for Hendricks is amazing, but I don't particularly like the other one.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Yeah Kershaw is a big injury red flag. If he goes down, that trade is awful.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Yeah Kershaw is a big injury red flag. If he goes down, that trade is awful. What if the trade was just Wainwright/Ozuna for Kershaw/Sanchez? That's pretty much how I look at it because I was going to lose Gray (or a similar value player) at some point anyway. Didn't really have space on my roster to bring him back from the IL.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Doesn't change my opinion. I don't think Jesus is that good. Also, I think Gray > Waino, despite early season results. It mostly comes down to Kershaw though. If he stays healthy then your P upgrade is better than the OF downgrade I guess.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 [FanGraphs] Paul Blackburn: Considering the other options, Blackburn should be rostered in all formats. So far, he’s doing everything right to turn around his career. He’s not walking anyone (0.6 BB/9). He has a 53% GB%. His fastball velocity is up a tick and his strikeout rate is up to a career-high 8.4 K/9. He’s moved away from his fastball and added a cutter. Is Blackburn potentially the real deal? I have him rostered and he's been amazing so far but if I also have a roster crunch right now where I need to explore 2-for-1 or 3-for-2 options to fit all my guys. If I can work out something like Blackburn + McHugh for Alcantara, should I take it?

If someone is discussing that with you, they suck lol
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 I think I can swing Megill + Strasburg (IL) for Scherzer in a redraft. Thoughts?
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 (edited) For reference on my future questions, this is a 10-team redraft league. 30-man rosters with 22 active (9 bats, 5 SP, 8 RP) and 8 reserves. Here is my current roster: C | Sean Murphy 1B | Matt Olson 2B | Marcus Semien SS | Wander Franco 3B | Manny Machado OF | George Springer OF | Teoscar Hernandez (D/T Tony Gonsolin) OF | J.D. Martinez (D/T Jesus Sanchez) DH | Spencer Torkelson RES1 | Zack Collins RES2 | Max Muncy RES3 | Chris Taylor RES4 | Enrique Hernandez SP1 | Shohei Ohtani SP2 | Jacob DeGrom (D/T Bruce Zimmermann) SP3 | Kevin Gausman SP4 | Clayton Kershaw SP5 | Alek Manoah RES5 | Jose Berrios RES6 | Frankie Montas RES7 | Tylor Megill RES8 | Paul Blackburn RP1 | Blake Treinen (D/T Dillon Peters) RP2 | Tim Mayza RP3 | Will Crowe RP4 | J.P. Feyereisen RP5 | Kendall Graveman RP6 | Aaron Loup RP7 | Jhoan Duran (D/T Colin McHugh) RP8 | Victor Arano Drops/Trades: x | Jesus Sanchez > J.D. Martinez x | Dillon Peters > Blake Treinen x | Colin McHugh > Jhoan Duran x | Tony Gonsolin > Teoscar Hernandez x | Bruce Zimmermann > Jacob DeGrom x | Stephen Strasburg (IL) x | Andrew Heaney (IL) x | Danny Jansen (IL) D/T means I currently have that player rostered and will need to drop or trade them to make room for my IL guys. I'm going to try and make 2-for-1 or 3-for-1 deals to move Sanchez, Strasburg, Jansen and McHugh. I don't mind dropping Peters, Gonsolin and Zimmermann outright when my injured stars get back. Andrew Heaney is the one guy on my drop list right now that I really want to find a spot for on my team because I think this is his breakout Robbie Ray year. Edited April 25, 2022 by TwistedLogic

Thoughts? do it Megill is legit so he could beast but projections say do it and it's not even close almost Megill probably gets shut down at some point. look at his innings in previous years.

If you really want to keep Heaney, why don't you drop Feyeresien? The Rays are using him as an opener, and even if they switch him back to late innings they are doing closer by committee.. The stars would really have to line up for him to get a lot of Ws, saves or holds.. You might be able to get some ratios, but is the plus bigger then the next Robby Ray 2021 version if you really believe in Heaney?

We do have bonuses for saves and holds but there are no wins and you get more credit just for IP and K's. That's why I'm trying to make space to claim Jhoan Duran. Here's my current RP corps with their fantasy point totals: So even with no saves and 2 holds, Feyereisen has been on of my better RP so far. But yeah I get what you're saying and I'll definitely have to consider that decision when it comes.

And a lot of the guys in there seem to be pretty reactionary and putting way too much stock in small samples. I wound up getting that deal done today. I’m not sure there’s less maintenance in these draft and holds

I’m not sure there’s less maintenance in these draft and holds Oh this isn't a D&H. Those require 0 effort, we haven't even looked at them since drafting haha. This is a H2H weekly matchup league. So anyway, now someone is offering me Soto for Harper LOL. Should I take it?
