I deposited 50$ last year at the start of the NFL season and my winnings are 819.60. When i had FD send me a cheque it came really quickly, but the only negative was that it was in US funds and my bank held it for like a month. lol.

Ive placed high in a couple tournaments (the only thing i use to play). Just started playing micro games against people on this board.

So most of the winnings are from MLB or did you win some in NFL too?

Actually, most of the winnings were from the NFL. I only recently started playing MLB on FD. I played MLB on DraftKings more ( and did quite well). This thread is why i started playing MLB on FD. I originally signed up for FD way back in 2011 when they had freerolls every week but only started playing for real money last NFL season. I also use to play draftstreet too.

The feel I get is you get more value on FD compared to DK for MLB.

Just tried this out, probably a bad idea but whatever. Placed in top 5%, 19%, and 12% yesterday. Just missed payout in tournament where needed to be in top 10% with the last one. Will probably stick to 50/50 and double ups.

It would be a honor to play you.

Sorry gentlemen, had some things come up with school and literally had it close on me mid lineup. If you wanted to set one up tonight for tomorrow I would be willing to do that.

Yeah he was 3rd highest on my projections for pitcher pts tonight (believe it or not)... and a great value. I had him and then swapped him out for Kershaw. I'm playing low-risk lately. About 5% of people are taking him in the open double-up games.

I would be lying if i said he was on my radar. It was Kershaw or Felix for me tonight.

Well DK you have 2 SP so I took Hernandez and then Stroman. I feel like you can get a lot better of a lineup on FD than DK.

I know my 140 was good enough to win our football matchup....any idea how that stood up compared to the majority this week?

Definitely better then average. You probably would have placed in some of the tournaments.

Do you guys have specific strategies to picking players? I'm not the most SABR savvy guy, although I have a general understanding of them. Just looking for some tips when playing tournaments, etc.

High volume players like BigJohn have algorithm's that they use to project max points per $ spent. Personally, i like doing the research myself ( it's part of the fun for me). Finding a really good pitcher is important so looking at team wRC+ (vs lefty/righty), Park factors, wind ect are all important. You will see that FD will send out an "insider" article for picks saying player X is 4 for 12 vs X Pitcher. Ignore that s***...It's worthless.

I feel like BigJohn or JFaS could probably answer this better. But ya...the more information you use the better you will do.

How many times has "wind" been the deal breaker? lol

It's rarely a deal breaker. I asked BigJohn about that and he says he uses it as a "tie breaker" if everything else is even. The more information you use the better you do.

http://www.parkfactors.com/ If you have a 16 MHP wind blowing straight out vs 16 MPH wind blowing in....it's something to consider.

I have a model that generates optimal lineups. I use the top few and change it up each day. Projections, Park Factors, splits and opposing team projected K% and offense for pitchers.

Have you made a good chunk of change on FD or DK?

I made a few small plays. I really like Reggie Wayne this week.

Allen Hurns (5700)/Cecil Shorts (5900) (whoever starts at X receiver) should be a decent sleeper/value pick. Hurns had a huge day starting at X and i would suspect if Shorts is able to play he should get a ton of looks at a bargain price. T.Y Hilton is another guy that could have a big game and is way safer pick (but at 6400). Honestly, I'm still in full blown baseball mode...I'll probably get more into it once the Jays are mathematically eliminated. I'll post some stuff Sunday morning if I'm not playing anyone on the board.

I'll probably end up going with Luck at QB. Dez Bryant as my top WR. Tampa's defense s*** the bed last week but i might roll the dice on them again vs St Louis. Brandon Meyers (4600) looks like a value tight end if you want to load up on other positions.
