Notes:

MLB:

  • No Important Notes Today.

Jays:

  • RA Dickey took a shutout into the sixth inning Tuesday against Baltimore but didn't factor in the decision after serving up a three-run homer in the 9-3 victory. Dickey is looking to snap a three-start losing streak against Boston after compiling an 8.53 ERA and serving up four homers in two starts last year. Middlebrooks took him deep twice, going 3 for 6 in their matchups.
  • The Blue Jays have given up an average of 9.0 runs during a four-game losing streak, a stretch during which opponents are hitting .326 and have a .421 on-base percentage. They also issued 108 free passes, the second-most in the majors.
  • Melky Cabrera has hit safely in 23 of 24 games this season.

Red Sox:

  • Lester has won back-to-back starts before giving up eight runs - three earned - and 11 hits in 4 2-3 innings Tuesday in a 9-3 loss to the Yankees. The left-hander walked four, matching his total from his first four outings. Lester went 4-0 with a 2.55 ERA in six starts against the Blue Jays last year while holding them to a .183 average.
  • Pierzynski's grand slam in the third inning was the eighth of his career, and first since May 2009. It was the first Red Sox grand slam of the season.
  • Middlebrooks is hitting .333 with five homers and five doubles in 13 career road games against the Blue Jays. Boston hasn't swept Toronto since June 10-12, 2011.

11-3 Boston.

Dickey will look filthy for 4 innings, then walk 2-3 batters, grand slam, and the bullpen will continue to suck #rut

I'm calling 1-2 HR, 4-5 BB, 3-4 K, from Dickey.

Normally when I expect them to get destroyed they win.

Jays win by 10 today.

But now you've reverse jinxed, so they're going to lose. Take it back.

The game's starting now, it's not interfering with the Sox/Jays game.

Y'all rather hear Zaun or watch the tight Premier League race?

Napoli always kills us. I remember when he was a Blue Jay for like a week. Than we traded him for Frank Francisco...

IIRC he was a Blue Jays for about 3 hours.
