Jays: Morrow is 1-3 with a 9.07 ERA in nine starts against the Red Sox - including 0-1 with a 9.13 ERA in five at home. Morrow has yet to last more than six innings in any of his four 2014 starts. He gave up two runs in five while not factoring in the decision of a 6-4 loss at Cleveland on Sunday. Jays pitchers have a 9.00 ERA and have allowed six home runs and walked 13 during the team's season-high three-game skid that's come at home. With his double in the fourth inning Friday, Blue Jays right fielder Jose Bautista has reached base safely in all 23 games. Red Sox: Buchholz allowed five runs and struck out 47 while going 6-0 to begin a 2013 season that saw him finish 12-1 with a 1.74 ERA after missing three months with a neck strain. It's been the complete opposite this season for Buchholz, who has allowed six runs twice - including all during a third inning he never finished in a 7-6 home loss to Baltimore on Monday. Boston set season highs with 16 hits and nine extra-base hits in last night's game Entering Friday, Red Sox hurlers Chris Capuano, Junichi Tazawa and Koji Uehara combined for 35 strikeouts with only three walks over 31 scoreless innings. Capuano struck out the side in order in the eighth inning Friday. eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Saw some tickets on Stubhub going as low as 2.50 for this game. Fan support is falling off a cliff.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 The jays should help get bucholz back on track.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Game 1/3? Otherwise, good job. This looks like another loss as Buchholz owns Jays hitters and Red Sox hitters own Morrow.

The less money Rogers gets, the more chance AA gets fired Game 1/3? Otherwise, good job. This looks like another loss as Buchholz owns Jays hitters and Red Sox hitters own Morrow. Thank you! Fixed
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Good. The less money Rogers gets, the more chance AA gets fired That's the concern for me though, that they make decisions based on short-term gains or losses and not based on what's best for the franchise long-term. It's the same concern I have with making the trades they made after a disappointing 2012 season. Did they give up on rebuilding the franchise because of the way the 2012 season ended and wanted to reenergize/rehype the fanbase? If they fire AA, I hope it's because of bad baseball moves, not because of dropping attendance. I certainly hope they tell Beeston to retire first though 'cause he's likely to hire a worse GM.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 lol if Eddy isn't playing so Sierra gets some playing time
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I'm ok with giving EE a day off, gotta use that bench, it's not Gibbons fault it stinks.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I'm ok with giving EE a day off, gotta use that bench, it's not Gibbons fault it stinks. I hope this isn't the reason, the bench will see plenty of time when injuries start and when we start getting less days off. If that is the reason, i'd rather see Juan sit and Sierra DH.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 They must have had there advanced stat guy looking at batting averages all night to make this move! Am I right?

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I sure hope not, they mean nothing. I know, but they may mean something to those in charge. Plus, they may want to just give him an off day even though they had one last Monday and have another one this Monday.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 "Barry Davis @SNBarryDavis 26m Just spoke to Bautista regarding his base running gaffe last night. Says no regrets for doing it, only for getting caught. #bluejays" are u dumn?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Could eddy be hurt? I just don't understand sitting him against a divisional rival with an off day on Monday.

Convo Verified Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Gibbons does not have any respect or control towards his players - and that's not good.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Blue Jays are going to break out on offense today. I think we blow out the red suxs and crush buchholz for once.
Convo Verified Member Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 They can mean something. So, yes, they mean nothing due to the small sample is incorrect. It can be reflective of an issue with that pitcher, or it could not be. It holds evidentiary value, even if it's not conclusive. It tells you about as much as Buehrle's first 4 games: squat.
