Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I like Thole, he just hasn't been the same since his concussion in 2012. That being said unleash the Kratz.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Dickey "Umpire fault" in fairness...that pop up single probably should have been caught.....next batter was a walk where pitch tracker had the 3 and 2 pitch as a strike....so that 3 run homer could have easily been a solo homer....we gave up 3 runs...we're going to win a lot of games when we only give up 3....dickey was decent tonight.

In fairness Dickey showed absolutely atrocious composure and inability to pick-up his team mates.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Bump. Predictions? You know where i stand.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Bump. Predictions? JFaS did crunch some numbers several weeks back and has him projected to a tune of a 3.5 ERA in 2014. Think about this for a sec..

I wouldn't be surprised if some ******** along the lines of the knuckleball provides more randomness, therefore is harder to project accurately, is at play. Although I'd still take the U on 4.5 ERA. If that was the bet.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 What are we betting? Didn't you have a bet with JFaS with an O/U 4.5 ERA?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Didn't you have a bet with JFaS with an O/U 4.5 ERA? Yes, but with Spanky. It's in the wager thread and its for $50.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 This thread is a f***ing joke..............hope you don't get on his nutsack when he shuts teams down. In Dickey's Cy Young year his highest monthly era was 5.13 and his lowest was 0.8 or something. I am a bit worried about all the walks... that is something to keep an eye on... but month to month variation is always large. Roy Halladay Cy Young 2003 year?? 0-2 4.89 in April, 2-4 5.40 in August. Still won Cy Young with those 2 bad months. Beurhle is probably not a 30 game winner, Denny Maclain 68 like guy... Dickey is probably not the second comming of 1998 Joey Hamilton. What is happening isn't unnussual it is just very typical month to month variation. If current trends continue for 6 more weeks then maybe you have a case.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Dickey seems to start very strong, looking like he'll through a CG 7-hitter. Then, after a walk or two he ALWAYS gives up a dinger. Never just a single. He's been in inconsistent, but he's been unlucky, too.

Dickey was actually looking pretty good last night, until the ball fell between Reyes and Cabrera in the sixth,He didn't look too happy then.
