Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 ShiDavidi 1m #BlueJays to add Anthony Gose as 26th man for second game of DH with #Twins tomorrow: http://bit.ly/P63IX4 (updates with details on rule)
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 Gose get a single and steal 2 bases. DFA Sierra
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 109 wRC+ at 23 or something? That's pretty solid.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 Please be the end of Sierra. Will this be a one day audition for Gose? Please....someone bump the "Fired AA thread"
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 He's Dhing for a game? He isn't worthy of being on the team as a back up CF on a team, despite defense being his only tool, yet they're going to DH him

This is what I was thinking. Maybe DH Rasmus to limit his running in Cleveland. With Reyes back, it should help to mitigate the offensive loss although who knows how long it'll take him to get going.
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Somehow he had negative defense and negative base running in 50 games last year. I find that hard to believe

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Not relevant but, what the heck, Marcus Stroman so far tonight: IP: 4 H: 4 ER: 0 BB: 0 SO: 8
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 If Lind goes down and I guess we have a 24 hour reprieve, what do you prefer as replacement, the speed and defense or the power?

I'd take into consideration Rasmus's hamstring and if it would help that he DH for a few games, I'd keep Gose up in CF and DH Rasmus.
flafson Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I don't know the situation with Rasmus but might be a good idea to keep him out of the lineup tomorrow. So maybe Melky in CF for game 1 and Gose in CF for game 2.
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I'm thinking similar. Seeing Bautista in cf has not been good. He should have had some reps in spring but no. Next he will play third cold.

The_DH Verified Member Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 He needs time to get the throwing style down.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 So he's only allowed to play in the night game?

Eragon Verified Member Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Seriously... still no Juan Francisco. The guy is hitting over .400 with an on base approaching .500 with big time power. Hitting in cold weather as well. Small sample size but hes raking and Twins pitching sucks. They seriously can't be content with playing Sierra and Navarro at DH. 5 seasons in the majors, never did anything special... I think that's why? Though he has to be an upgrade over Sierra.
Eragon Verified Member Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Hes an upgrade over a ton of guys. You take upgrades wherever you can get them. You can't always have the perfect guy enter the picture. But you take marginal improvements whenever you can take them. But he's a lefty and Sierra is a righty... I'm not sure that makes sense... need another righty masher to compliment Lind, unless Lind is injured then by all means.

There's talk he goes on teh DL and that's why Francisco's name is being brought up.

Relax man, it's still just Juan Francisco we're talking about, it's not like were not calling up Juan Gonzalez or something.

Though he has to be an upgrade over Sierra. 298 games...more like 2 seasons worth of games spread over 5 years. He has a career .731 OPS, which is far from terrible for a kid still just 26 years of age, but he can't play a lick of defense.

That's the thing Lind is going to DL, 90% likely I'd much rather give Francisco a shot during that 2 weeks that use Navarro and Sierra to cover DH
