Convo Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 .776 career OPS against RHP. If he's versatile, nothing wrong with this. Nothing wrong with it if he's minor league filler, otherwise no thx. AA loves his 'high ceiling' scrubs.
Caper Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I got my names mixed up... I was thinking they signed Juan Rivera.... The Francisco confused me, because I was thinking of Frankie Francisco... Like if Juan Rivera and Frankie Francisco merged... Into one baseball pile of s***.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 this guy is a 1b/3b who can't get on base 33% of time vs righties, not a good choice unless lind gets hurt That's just one statistic, but I agree with the latter comment because of our situation.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 That's just one statistic, but I agree with the latter comment because of our situation. Yeah but we won't have a RHP specialist off the bench. Plus why make Sierra the backup 1B if we have Fransisco? Kratz/Sierra/Fransisco/Diaz won't be a bad bench vs. RHP
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Yeah but we won't have a RHP specialist off the bench. Plus why make Sierra the backup 1B if we have Fransisco? Kratz/Sierra/Fransisco/Diaz won't be a bad bench vs. RHP 1B (Lind + Edwin + Francisco) and C (Thole + Navarro + Kratz) in the same 25-man roster?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 1B (Lind + Edwin + Francisco) and C (Thole + Navarro + Kratz) in the same 25-man roster? I meant drop Thole. Also Both EE and Francisco can play 3B (E5 mode lol) and JF can play LF too
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 It really, really bugs me that Josh Thole is still on this team. Such an inefficient use of a bench spot.
Convo Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I meant drop Thole. Also Both EE and Francisco can play 3B (E5 mode lol) and JF can play LF too EE should never f***ing play 3B again. Saying this is like saying Lind can play CF, because yes, technically he can do it, but really should he? NO!
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 It really, really bugs me that Josh Thole is still on this team. Such an inefficient use of a bench spot. Kratz caught the knuckleball well in ST. I have no idea why they keep him around EE should never f***ing play 3B again That is true. Just saying for dire circumstances/NL games
Frag Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 The one and only reason to sign Juan Francisco: http://m.mlb.com/video/v19127709/chccin-francisco-launches-one-out-of-the-ballpark Our next Jose Bautista...

wilko Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I could see if he hit lefties well to platoon with Lind but this signing is strange. Maybe they think he can be EE 2.0...
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 The one and only reason to sign Juan Francisco: http://m.mlb.com/video/v19127709/chccin-francisco-launches-one-out-of-the-ballpark 32BB and 138k last year and under .300 OBP which is his career numbers. maybe KS can help him cut back on the Ks. He's got real power but isn't a viable player since he's only an option as LH DH if Lind drives off a cliff.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 1B (Lind + Edwin + Francisco) and C (Thole + Navarro + Kratz) in the same 25-man roster? Thole's days should be numbered.... should be. I think the Dick pushed to have Thole back this year. it's time for AA to actually be in charge and explain to Dick that he needs better offense from his catcher if he's gonna be giving up a s*** load or runs all year.
Lawrie22 Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 With below average bats in the lineup like Goins and Diaz who both have very little pop, Francisco may actually come in handy coming off the bench as a power hitter against righties. Imagine a game where the jays are down 2 in the 9th with 2 out and a man on first and goins comes up. I would much rather Francisco coming off the bench because he would atleast give us a chance at a HR.
HASHTAGYOLOSWAG Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I mashed with him in MLB 11 the Show. Also I remember one of his first homeruns in the mlb was like 450 ft. Serious pop, not a lot of range in the field.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 It really, really bugs me that Josh Thole is still on this team. Such an inefficient use of a bench spot. I know! It's a frustrating as hell. Plus, I really like Kratz as a backup. If Thole has options, and I think he may have one or two left, get him out of dodge. I don't get it. At least in AAA he'd have more bats and be more ready.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 FO to Dickey "R.A., you allow 4 and 5 runs per game, you need a better offensive team on the field to "WIN" games. We will DFA Thole, it's the best for you and the team"
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Arencibia-like player I like this signing for Buffalo, Mauro Gomez replacement Francisco is better player than Mauro for a mile.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Juan Francisco: "It's a Minor League contract, I'll play in Triple A for a month; Call-up me to the big team or leave me free."
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 OK, I officially like it If he tears up Buffalo he's good depth
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Juan Francisco will be in the minors for a month. If the team don't call up him to MLB, then must release him.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 juan francisco will be despaired in the minors for a month. If the team don't call up him to mlb, then must release him. ftfy
