I know AA thinks a lot of last years problems were injuries and the team not having enough time to develop chemistry, but imo he's taking a big gamble this season by solely hoping for better health and chemistry. Standing pat on the free agency/trade front was a big mistake, our SP is one or two injuries away from triggering another epic team collapse. Injuries happen in baseball and especially on turf, Reyes has traditionally been a China doll so everybody's holding thier breath there and if he goes down the tandom of Kawasaki-Goins isn't exactly inspiring. Btw- Please don't get me started on if something happens to Lawrie and we have to see Izturis, heaven forbid.

Our biggest needs this offseason was a SP, 2B, and a C. We addressed the catching situation with Navarro who I'll reserve judgment for until I get a bigger sample but was he really the best answer out there? Also I get giving Goins a shot because of his D but what happens if he's still atrocious at the plate and it backfires? Our starting rotation is essentially a patchwork group with Hutch & McG coming off significant injuries and Morrow always has problems.

AA loves to gamble but he's rolling the dice and all I know is this could get real ugly real fast! I hope he'll have his phone on speed dial to the other GM's ready because this really can blow up in his face at any second...

I think they will gel better than last year

More guys happy and healthy to start the season

More comfort with each other

I hope so but I'm skeptical. I know it feels good having a clean slate when going into a new season but when the old problems arise it's going to take us right back to the frustration of last year. I heard AA was approved to spend an additional 17mil this year so let's hope he's ready to spend it immediately if things go south..

Ahh good ol' Chemistry.

Good chemistry can add around 5 WAR. A good manager can add about 2 WAR.

If we have good chemistry and if Gibbons can motivate our players, we'll have a playoff team.

In today's episode of numbers you pulled out of your ass, are you planning on proving that..?

The manager part is probably right if not a little high but 5 f***ing wins from chemistry? What?

I don't know if I would classify it as "chemistry", but I think they will benefit from improved familiarity, especially defensively up the middle. All that hinges on health of course.

AA should have acquired chemistry.

I think trading Happ for air would actually create some. Make it so AA.

I joke about chemistry a lot but I do believe that negative chemistry can probably affect a team and players. I don't believe that good chemistry can make an untalented team, talented. Talent trumps all.

I'm a little bit concerned with how the bullpen relationship will develop. Darren Oliver had a lot of wise words I'm sure. A leader needs to step up.

Really? The bullpen's the least of my concerns, I'm not a fan of Rogers or Jeffres at all but I at least see the significance in keeping Rogers just in case. My area's of concern are with Goins and Navarro not being up to snuff, and then of course our starting rotation which is the obvious one..

Unfortunately, a google image search also gives this awkward picture of him getting (aparently) ass-raped by Brett Lawrie

No of course not. I'm being sarcastic.

Sorry I totally missed that one. It was actually pretty funny on the re-read.
