On the plus side for this game, Melky is looking very encouraging. Single, Double, stolen base. He might just be back!

Not surprising in the slightest. It would make sense he would revert to his previous abilities with the tumor removed.

I think it has to be Redmond. Happ still seems like a bit of a mess. At least we have a pretty good idea what to expect from Redmond, and that's a legit #4/5 guy who gives you a chance to win games.

A healthy Melky makes this lineup so much more dynamic. If he has his legs back he could make an excellent #2 hitter for this lineup with a solid OBP. The lineup certainly has a ton of exciting potential.

Like I said in another thread. Redmond is practically in the dictionnary under 5th starter. People don't really like him because he doens't really have the ceiling to be anything more but all the other candidates have flours that are like trap doors. I really don't know what's going on with Happ himself but the situation certainly is a mess. The team is holding him back but it seems to be against Happ's wishes. Without truly knowing what's wrong with him, it's hard to see the benefit of holding him back. Just like Morrow, he should be out there trying to take advantage of the remaining spring training time. He's fickle at the best of time and this can't be helping but we don't really have the full picture.

That escalated quickly.

I mean that really got out of hand fast.

It jumped up a notch.

It did, didn't it?

Yeah, I drilled a guy in the heart!

I saw that. Romero killed a guy.

HaHA Good 1

He's thrown minor league splits.

Again, I don't understand what's going on. If he can throw why was he taken out of the regular pitching schedule? What's the benefit of giving him lesser competition? Are they trying to despair him so he'll opt for free agency? It's all a bit strange.

RR is such a mess. Call him up just to DFA him and hopefully someone will take him.

The best thing for him would be to let another organization have a crack at him. I keep thinking there must be a deal out there where he can be swapped for an overpaid 2B like Weeks or Phillips.

My guess is so that they can backdate a DL stint if it is necessary.

Well that makes perfect sense actually although you have to wonder at the legitimacy of an injury that only prevents you from pitching to Major Leaguers.

Anybody else worried about our offence this year? Will they s*** to bed i wonder?

Scoring runs wasn't a problem last year and this is essentially the same team. The problem was the horrible defense (which has been addressed) and the inconsistent pitching (which hasn't)

Our offense will be just fine if everyone stay healthy. If you want to worry go curl up in a corner and think about our pitching.

lol............who????

Who knows but maybe if he keeps going up and going down someone will take a flyer on him.

You can only backdate 9 days from the start of the regular season (back into Spring Training time).

Sounds like the whole thing is just a scheme so that they can wait 6 days before demoting Jeffres. Jays just can't quit on that guy.

"Romero had 9 good innings in spring training. Maybe he's turned it around!"

- Idiots on this message board

So you think that posters on this board are idiots for not believing in RR because you think that "Romero had 9 good innings in spring training. Maybe he's turned it around!"

LOL

More like Dan Uggla, the braves need pitching help too.

Uggla is owed $26 mil over 2 years

Ricky is owed $15.6 mil over 2 years.

We'd need a prospect coming back to bridge the difference, as $10.4/2 is still not good for Uggla. Maybe we also give them Izzy to shed $7 mil over 2.

Something like Izzy/Ricky for Uggla+PTBNL. Braves save $3.4 mil from this deal. Uggla as a RH bat might be another Lind platoon option and provides power on the bench.

Every starter has regressed with Pete Walker. Every damn one.

When Arnsberg was here, starters had career years or sustained success. Now we are seeing the opposite.

I'd be all over this.

I would too. Both Izzy and Ricky are lost. At least we would fill a positional need with Uggla and while we can't seem to develop players the PTBNL might add some value.
