Reality is going to hit him hard, he should have worked hard to improve and be grateful the Jays gave him as much leeway as they did. he is a moron.

He may well find himself playing for the Round Rock Express once Soto gets back. Maybe that finally shuts him up?

If he does, we HAVE to get a pic of him with one of these on:

We look like a whole new team, and the only real move we made was replacing JP!

Navarro is no all star, but the pitchers seem to really appreciate him, and he makes mostly good at bats. I'll take that over handsome-but-useless JP any day.

He may not be an all-star but the difference between him and JP is like getting an all-star upgrade.

It's interesting, Navarro seems worse at framing pitches than JP but he works with the pitchers much better and he is a big improvement at the plate.

If Texas ends up cutting him when Soto comes back. I wonder if Alex would be on the phone with his agent lol. Seriously it could happen. He realizes now if he has to change or hes out of the big leagues for good.

Because we need a fourth catcher? And I use that term loosely.

It's too bad we didn't pull off that trade with Texas, Romero would have looked great with that hat on.

The Toronto Blue Jays were pursuing a trade for Ian Kinsler earlier this offseason, before Kinsler was traded by the Rangers to Detroit for Prince Fielder, according to reports.

Shi Davidi writes that the deal was "scuttled by Kinsler's no trade clause," which some are interpreting as meaning that Kinsler rejected a trade to Toronto.

However, Ken Rosenthal writes that Kinsler was never asked by the Rangers to approve a deal, and it may be that the Rangers halted talks with the Blue Jays because they figured Kinsler would not waive his no-trade clause, making negotiations moot.

Rosenthal also writes, though, that the Rangers wanted Edwin Encarnacion in a Kinsler deal, which the Blue Jays weren't willing to do. Rosenthal says the Blue Jays and Rangers talked about Sergio Santos (who was also part of a three-way deal that would have sent him to Texas, with Brett Anderson going to Toronto, that fell apart when Anderson failed his physical) and Ricky Romero, but that that package wouldn't have been enough for Kinsler.

So while Davidi says the deal collapsed because of Kinsler's no trade clause, Rosenthal's column would seem to indicate it may have fallen apart because the Rangers couldn't get back from the Jays what they felt was fair value for Kinsler.

While both the Davidi and the Rosenthal pieces talk about the Santos/Anderson deal, there's no mention of what the Rangers would have sent to Oakland in that trade. Anderson ended up getting shipped off to Colorado for an underwhelming package, so while I initially wondered if Craig Gentry would have been part of that deal, I have to think it was something less than that.

Hey other teams: STOP ASKING FOR EDWIN. YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM.

Edwin >> Prince

Especially when you factor in the contract, at which point it's laughable how much more valuable Edwin is

Posted
you guys should realize by now he'll just say it was the Rangers and not him. "Washington was doing lines on the bench and didn't realize he didn't put me in the lineup."

LOL

He does seem like one of those guys who will always blame anyone but himself for his failures. And he barely even recognizes that they're failures.

Gurantee it, his ego just seems way to big. The guy prob grew up never havingto put a single lick of effort to get a chick. He was better then everyone else at baseball(he did make the majors i would assume he waS better then 95% of the people he played with) We can't blame the guy for having his ego he just needs to realize he's not the best and needs to stop swinging at everything.

Hahahaha

Probably true. But obviously I was comparing him to Prince Fielder because Texas was clearly looking for a power hitting 1B when they decided to deal Kinsler.

I have a hard time believing anything AA says or reportedly says.

I think most of the time when it says the Jays were in on someone AA phoned to check in, or made a ridiculous offer.

He probably offered Jeffress for Kinsler.

JPA victim of the bobbled transfer rule today. Bases loaded, grounder back to pitcher, throws to JPA for the home out, but he bobbled the transfer (though the ball never hit the ground), and the play was overturned after video review. I hate this rule, but I enjoyed the JPA screw up.

If a top 5 GM like Daniels liked JPA enough to give him another chance, there must be a lot of talent in that tank.

They were "hard after him" after all

It's weird. Rangers are a contending team and are giving playing time to this guy.
