TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 We're probably going to have comparable records. Taxes would be a bit lower it Baltimore... but come on. Baltimore is barely a step up from Detroit in terms of quality of life. Toronto is bumping during the summer. Easy choice. Mid 90's it was probably one of the worst cities in the U.S. but it's improved a lot. Probably more than any city in the U.S.

That was Morosi's column from today so I would think he got the quote today, but who knows.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Some of the things he said are true, namely that it's not the same because Josh Johnson was a big part of why the Jays were considered contenders. Over all though, you're right that he should stick to doing all his talking on the field.[/QUOT I do tend to agree players shouldn't talk about team moves to the media even when they get baited and asked on such subjects. Their job is to play...I thought the date was earlier. It may have been from today...it has been reported the jays are in the mix for Santana...perhaps that's why he felt he could comment.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 worst thread ever Get on your goat and get us some information
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Get on your goat and get us some information 99% of Dominicans think that Nelson Cruz is an excellent ballplayer and Ervin is an elite pitcher. Ervin and most Dominicans think that the Orioles are a team capable of reaching the playoffs right now.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Mods can we change the name of this thread? It is a false headline
berenjenareturns Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 If the Blue Jays can't recruit Ervin Santana on a one year deal to play along Melky, Bautista, Encarnacion, Reyes, Rogers, and a Navarro that speaks spanish...I don't know what to say to the chances of adding big free agents in the future.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Came here to post this. Better? Although the first one said "REPORT"

GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Maryland is a great place to live. And if I'm a baseball free agent and not Canadian or a Blue Jays fan. I'm picking Orioles. Nothing to do with cities. Quality of team. Plus Camden Yards obliterates any park the Jays will call home, pretty much forever.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Plus Camden Yards obliterates any park the Jays will call home, pretty much forever. Baltimore is a s*** hole and we have a better offense, since that matters to Santana. I doubt he cares how pretty the park is, both parks are hitter-friendly and he's only going to stick around for a year.

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 And we dance all night to the worst thread ever. lol You did not.
flafson Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Good thing i put in the thread "Report", at least it's not completely wrong as there was a real report at the beginning.
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I wonder if some kind of promise to not tender a qo is part of this.
JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 If I'm AA, I say "every day you don't sign, our offer decreases by $1M. Your move, motherf***er."
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 If I'm AA, I say "every day you don't sign, our offer decreases by $1M. Your move, motherf***er." Yeah... you'd make an awful GM.
JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Yeah... you'd make an awful GM. Cool, thanks for your opinion. I guess it's more fun to be dragged around by your sac hair for two months. This has gone on long enough, he's not even that good. s*** or get off the pot.

Could be 24hrs, could be 3-5days but obviously nothing too long.

It's getting ridiculous. This isn't Nolan Ryan, it's Ervin friggin' Santana, a number three pitcher when he's "on" and Ricky Romero when he's not.
The_DH Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Definitely agree on the last part, s*** or get off the pot.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Oh I did. Ban worthy One Direction reference my friend
xposbrad Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Would be amazing if the Jays and Orioles pull their offer and he has to sign a 1 year 8m deal with like the pirates or rockies, teach him and his agent a lesson
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 1/8 to the Pirates would be great for Santana
xposbrad Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 1/8 to the Pirates would be great for Santana Ya it's true, he'd probably put up good numbers with them. Ok so the Rockies or Astros then.

BallsDeep Verified Member Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Floored that this has been exactly like the Yu Darvish situation when we were the "frontrunners". Feels like were fighting with the Orioles for table scraps.
