G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 If we sign Santana then Drew only costs the third round pick Why not? Except he'll only play 2B if a longer deal according to Boras

BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Jesus f***..........in what scenario would he not have a chance? Not exactly a bold statement. If he was the victim of a jihad. Or his arm fell off. Those are two possible scenarios. Okay, here's my prediction...16-6 ERA 3.52...218 K.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Having Santana would be nice and after watching Romero yesterday, he's looking good. I'm hoping he can have his control back permanently.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 If we sign Santana then Drew only costs the third round pick Why not? Except he'll only play 2B if a longer deal according to Boras Choices for Drew: Play 2B in the big leagues for millions of dollars, or play SS at home on your Playstation for nothing. Seriously, if someone was going to give Drew a one year deal to play short, I think they would have already. The draft pick cost makes signing someone for a single season pretty impossible for most non-competitive teams to stomach, and most competitive teams don't have SS holes that Drew can plug.

Except he'll only play 2B if a longer deal according to Boras Drew has never played at 2B in his life and he has medical problems. Bonifacio played some games there and it didn't work out too well. It makes sense to have Goins in Buffalo to start the year but they want some solid defense on 2B and they don't know what they will get with Drew.

BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Uh oh, you've really gone and done it now............SABR-based mockery to begin momentarily. Hah. I'm actually pretty good at predictions. JPA in 2013 aside. What are your JJ predictions for 2014? Let's get it on paper here.

Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Santana must be too despaired to sign the contract. AA put the man to sleep.
theblujay Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Holy f*** this thread sucks. Bad start to your day?
vic city Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 And to the person that predicted that JJ will win the NL Cy, what the hell are you smoking?? JJs career is over. No way he pitches .500 ball. No way he has an ERA under 4. No way in hell he pitches anything close to 200 innings...I can keep going here!
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Bad thread? We've only had the Dioner signing to get hot about. This is the best (possible) news I've had as a Jays fan since, I dunno' the Dickey signing. Because it means we are going to improve if we sign him. How does discussing an almost certain improvement translate to the "worst thread ever"?

No way he pitches .500 ball. No way he has an ERA under 4. No way in hell he pitches anything close to 200 innings...I can keep going here! First he had bone chips removed that he said he was uncomfortable pitching with last year. Second, he himself has said he feels just as good as he did before. He already pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2ks. I think he will do better than 4/5 of the jays pitchers and be a solid #2 guy for them.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Just the same, humour me. I agree that JJ will be very good this year in the NL in a park like San Diego. He's was incredibly unlucky last year. Prime rebound candidate.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 His worst xFIP- in the past 6 years is 95. JJ will be an above average pitcher. yep.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Anyways. I don't have twitter. Any updates on Santana?
