Brenner Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Mets better hope its not dead or he could be a Romeroish contract for them.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 This was the guy Jays fans wanted in addition to Dickey.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 This was the guy Jays fans wanted in addition to Dickey. INSTEAD of Dickey
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 It's almost like human joints weren't designed for the repetitive stress involved with throwing a baseball.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 INSTEAD of Dickey Sounds like something NJH would have said. I, for one, never wanted Niese.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 It's almost like human joints weren't designed for the repetitive stress involved with throwing a baseball. LOL exactly. It's so un natural it's ridiculous.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Sounds like something NJH would have said. I, for one, never wanted Niese. There were quite a few in favour
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Thank f*** we didn't trade for him (even though it sure seemed like a good idea a year ago) he's a value now...would only cost AA one of the top arms.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 There were quite a few in favour I was in favor of getting Niese... sad to read this though
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I was in favor of getting Niese... sad to read this though at least you got integrity to admit you were in favor of it.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I saw the appeal in Niese, but didn't really want him. Still, hope he's okay.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 "Long live the arm." That's twisted yo
Muck Bartinez Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Dialogue! Buy Low! Weighted Balls! Value!
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I was intrigued by Niese, doesn't sound good now. I would not jump to any conclusions until we get some results from MRI and such but your right it is not a good situation. He was a solid pitcher on a team friendly contract. I guess some things are too good to be true.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 at least you got integrity to admit you were in favor of it. The dude was a really good pitcher with exciting projections. There shouldn't be people who wouldn't be admitting to wanting him, it's not like his performance went south or something, his arm blew
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Good thing I traded him in my 30 team dynasty league. I hope he's alright though - I've always liked him.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 He complained of discomfort in his left triceps. This seems very similar to Johan Santana's injury.. and we all know what happened to him.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 He's probably terminal, but "dead arm" isn't necessarily a kiss of death. I don't think anybody ever wanted Niese over Dickey if the cost was similar, but I think some people believed that Niese would be a better target since he'd cost much less. One thing that did happen was Mets fans would crawl over to the board and inform all of us that our stupid JPA centred packages would never land Dickey, it would take d'Arnaud+ easily, and our stupid trade proposals probably wouldn't even be enough to land Niese.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Daisuke came back from dead arm quite well...
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Good news for Niese and Mets
