flafson Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Do you have to have an account to watch it free on mlb? From what i remember last year, yes. You create a free account and then it lets you watch the free games.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Debating about ordering it right now It's worth it if you're going to be following all of MLB for the entire season. But if you're mostly just interested in the Blue Jays and are only interested in watching other teams on occasion, then it's not.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Do you have to have an account to watch it free on mlb? The old forum account. Do you forgot your password?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 The old forum account. Do you forgot your password? It's been awhile haha. But I recovered it.

S33n Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 As for lineup, Gibby is taking this ST seriously. Wants the "real" team to "gel" methinks. I like this idea. My gf and I went down for last years spring and they NEVER played our starters. When I was watching the team play early on last season, I couldn't help but think that the slow start/rust/lack of chemistry had a lot to do with the way the team had been handled during spring training.

It depends on so many things. Have you got 6 outfielders to pick from and only one you've decided has an every day job? Then they all need to play a lot. This team this year is 90% set. And last April was a disaster. So yeah playing mostlynthe real team makes some sense, as long as you don't push them too hard too early and perhaps increase risk of injuries.
S33n Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I would argue that last years position players were fairly "set" early on as well. Bautista, Rasmus, Cabrera were all locks, the only question was the 4th OFer. Lawrie, Reyes, Izturis, Lind/Encarn and (lol) JPA.

Davis was going to be the 4th man. I'm pretty sure Boni was going to be the starting 2nd

S33n Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Ah,yes. I stand corrected, I had forgotten about that bum Boni. Selective memory, I guess.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 The only non lock were Izturis/Boni for 2B and Romero/Happ for 5th spot. and then lawrie got hurt, and everything just went to s***

S33n Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Moral of the story: They NEED to give the starters more reps this spring, so far, it looks like that may just be the plan.
S33n Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 ps. VIPBOX has an alphaTV and BeeTV link posted already, this is a good sign.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Really interested to see Melky run. I think he really is a season changer for us. He could be anywhere from -1.0 WAR to 4.0 WAR. Maybe even 5! In 2012 he was on pace for 6.0 (for 155 games) when he was suspended.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 So one would think to improve depth/bench. Benches are cheap and easy to put together, right? ......

S33n Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I think the poor start also had a lot to do with Lawrie and Reyes getting hurt, Dickey's back issues, JJ being s*** and hurt and Melky's spine tumour. Maybe you could say that Buehrle, Dickey and JJ got off to poor performance starts because they weren't on the same page as JPA. Also, the middle infield defense was abysmal and you could blame that on Izturis and Boni's lack of experience on turf and/or playing together. Mark DeRosa had to play the infield too and he looked bad out there. So there could be something there, but I wouldn't say it was the primary factor. All fair points. Although the position players were struggling mightily before Reyes got hurt (small sample I know). Seemed as if Reyes was the only player on his game early. The pitchers were all a huge disappointment and I don't think it had anything to do with their handling in spring. Was referring more to the position players.

flafson Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Looks like MLB.com doesn't let me watch the game for free, can anyone confirm?
charlie460 Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Will have a HQ stream here just like last year
