And Ervin Santana still remains unsigned.. I think most teams know he's asking for too much, and he's a guy who should be in a big park because of his HR issues. Even when he was in Kansas City last year, he still gave up 26 HRs..18 of them at Kaufman. Imagine if he were in the AL East..

If Santana signs in the AL East and is decent, and if Morrow fails to pitch beyond April, the whole league will be laughing at AA.

The whole league is already laughing at AA and the Blue Jays.

The team, meanwhile, is laughing at its fans.

Sounds like the situation in Montreal years back.

Absolutely.

Does pointing that out make Toronto's situation any less precarious? lol

In the minority here I guess, but I for one am not upset the Jays won't be the ones paying Santana or Jimenez 12+M a year. I have an irrational hatred for both. For me it was Tanaka, Burnett once he became available, or run with what we have.

I like to live on the edge

But do you visit the Disney channel's website

Without your parents' permission?

Santana I get, Jimenez made sense to me.

Running with what they have also wouldn't look so terrible if the team managed to strengthen even 1 of it's other fairly obvious holes beyond getting a backup player and handing him the full time gig.

At this point I can only assume sometime before Happ AA suffered an undiagnosed stroke.

kinda sounds like you are cheering for this scenario, which is laughable as well.

Not at all, and I'm somewhat annoyed that you would suggest this. It would be embarrassing. I am NOT cheering for the Orioles to do better than the Jays this year.

so what's your desire to discuss a scenario where another team's player thrives and a blue jays player who is in the best physical shape of his career crashes and burns in a month. What will the entire league be saying about AA if Santana signs in the AL East and blows up and Morrow pitches 180+ innings with a sub 3 ERA...

Well this is exactly what I'm HOPING for. I love Morrow. I just don't trust him to stay healthy and I worry that AA is counting on him to be.

The only thing that's laughable is that you would suggest that /Gsnarls/ of all people would be cheering for that based on literally nothing.

Well... there's also the Morrow angle, the idea that the man of glass might break to pieces is far from laughable.

Dudes gone 150+ innings once, which at this point IS the outlier.

Right. Which was my only point. I'd LOVE to see a 180 IP all star season from Morrow and he's capable of it. It just seems like AA is banking on too much good luck coming his way and it could really bite him in the ass. Jimenez or Capuano signing would have mitigated against disaster.

Since coming to Toronto, and before last season, he had 3 years where he didn't pitch less than 145 innings.

My car, if we ignore the last time the engine fell out, has gone 17, 000 km on 3 occasions before breaking down.

My point, that's a low bar.

I like Morrow, but his history with issues has become significant.

You can't just ignore the very latest and most significant, time wise, injury the guy suffered with the Jays only to then reference the previous years which were also cut short 50% of the time - throwing out his first year as a starter for fairness.

Kinda sounds like you're an idiot.
