Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 MLS as a whole is not a great league. But the games are fun to go to live and TFC acquired some outstanding talent this year. Defoe has always been one of my faves so I'm super excited. Then you hear talk about other guys like Xavi or Drogba coming over... Even if they're past their primes... Can't really beat the value of seeing these legends for like 25-30 bucks on a Saturday afternoon. It's hard to get excited for a TFC/"Sporting" Kansas City game... but when the premier teams come to the town it should be fun. They should name a team like...Inter Miami. Or Olympique Little Rock. Or Club Atletico de Buffalo.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Going to take awhile to get use to this lmao
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Goallllllllllllll! Welcome to toronto defoe!
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Goalllllllllllll! Defoe again!!!
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Epic!!!! Not making it hard to get me into mls.... I let out a yell on that 2nd goal
Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Holy f***ing s*** man, I hurt my hand punching the wall in joy after that second Defoe goal. =D
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Too bad this game wasn't in Toronto
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Defoe is still world class. This is gonna be fun
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Time to start goal total predictions for defoe? Over/Under 19?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Seattle dominating possession but they aren't getting in the box much.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 2-1... this has pretty much been all seattle so far
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Great start to the season!!
Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 That second half was giving me a heart attack. I'm shocked that everything came up roses, shocked I tells ya...... Leafs 3rd in the East, Raptors 3rd in the East, TFC looking better......never been a better time to be a Toronto sports fan, right? ;-) Facking Blooooh Hyays bringing up the rear right now.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 That second half was terrible. Seattle outplayed them so much. Possession was like 70/30 in favour of Seattle! Not promising.. but we'll take the 3 points. Seattle is a tough place to play.

Argos will most definitely be at BMO with that investment. I think they can co-exist. Everyone wins. Better BMO. Rogers Centre gets real grass. Toronto sports scene is on a massive upswing.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Anyone going to the home opener this Sat? If there are a few people going maybe we can grab a pre-game beer.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Am I the only one going to the home opener today? Sold out and even Rob Ford is going to be there! Should be a good one. Hopefully it stays sunny.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I would have if I weren't busy and Rob Ford wasn't there.

Being the bandwagon fan I am, I sure won't be missing it. The first game was great.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I've tried watching a couple soccer games and no matter how much I try, I just can't get into it, there's 90 minutes total of game time of running around and of that, only about 2-3 minutes total worth of action, usually taking place in 10-20 second bursts, separated by another 15-20 minutes of boredom.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Its a lot easier to get into it when your team is playing. Im just jacked because the atmosphere should be electric.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I'm sure going to a live game would be infinitely more enjoyable than TV watching, but I just find the game unexciting on the whole.
