"I just voted for Jack Morris, he's the one who deserves to be there"

Don't know whether to laugh or cry

Posted
If people are talking about Kevin Brown dropping off the ballot compared to Morris, then David Wells should be thrown into the conversation as well. Wells has comparable/superior stats to Morris and was a better "big game" playoff pitcher too.

2014 baseball Hall of Famers: Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas. Craig Biggio falls short, as does Jack Morris in his final attempt.

No Biggio, Kent, Mussina, and Schilling is a complete joke.

Yup. Let's see the voting percentages once they are out. Apparently Biggio missed by one vote.

Okay boys, I'm throwing strikes with this lead, f*** painting the black, lets get out of here and get drunk- Jack Morris

Sounds like a true leader to me.

Awesome re Thomas. Sure hope he was clean...

This is such ********, but at least Morris stays out.

I don't even hate the guy...

Me neither

He's just not quite good enough

Awesome re Thomas. Sure hope he was clean...

Actually I hope he comes out today and says he ate a tub of steroids a day...literally...ate it. That'll put some nice egg on the face of these voters.

It would be pretty funny if a few players in he hall of fame who weren't connected to steroids came out and said they did it.

I'd love that too

"Paving the road for Bonds"

lol Jacque Jones, Armando Benitez received votes.

Might as well have written in a vote for Frank Menechino while they were at it.

Nonsense like that wouldn't bug me so much if there weren't already a plethora of decent candidates who are getting overlooked. I wonder if the writers who voted them passed over Bonds and Clemens? Pump Jacque Jones full of steroids and he still wouldn't be as good as Bonds clean.

2-Clemens

3-Maddux

4-Schilling

5-Edgar Martinez

6-Raines

7-Mussina

8-Bagwell

9-Glavine

10-Thomas

Sosa, RP's and Morris out of the ballot

Your ballot is missing Larry Walker, but then again only 10.2% of voters voted for him, so a lot of people's ballots were missing Walker

Posted

No surprise Palmeiro is getting eliminated. Especially considering his steroid suspicions and/or admittance. Ditto for Luis Gonzalez and Eric Gagne. The rest who were eliminated from future ballots weren't exactly Hall of Fame material, like Richie Sexson, Jacque Jones or Moises Alou.

Biggio and Piazza will have a reasonable chance next year, but they'll face competition from guys like John Smoltz and Randy Johnson, who will be eligible.

Going to combine the HOF threads

You combined every HOF's thread and the sum of the all percentages, don't helped to Bonds and Clemens.

Going to combine the HOF threads

Larry Walker 1997. Home OPS of 1.169 road OPS of 1.176. 33 stolen bases, 12 outfield assists and 2 errors. A rare 5 tool player. He could run, throw(one of the strongest most accurate arms of all time), play defense, hit for average and hit for power. Do people not realize how good this guy was defensively? I'm glad I'm 38 years, old enough to remember seeing him play countless games with the expos. Lucky enough to have seen him play live in person, albeit just one game.

Larry Walker is the only player in all of baseball history to steal more than 25 bases and post a slugging percentage above .700 in a single season.
