GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Interesting, because Kershaw had a 3.07 ERA but 4.60 xFIP in April that year How was Brad Penny that month lol
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 ChrisCotillo o Sources: #Rangers and #Rays have been talking trades, came to the point of exchanging medicals at one point. Profar here go!!

Profar here go!! Nah, the rumour according to Morisi, is they're trying to move Andrus. Yet, in this circumstance Profar or Odor make sense.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Rays DFA Jose Molina does he want to be a back up? lol the jays could have the 2 best framers in baseball.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 does he want to be a back up? lol the jays could have the 2 best framers in baseball. This is not as crazy as it sounds.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 This is not as crazy as it sounds. Martin and Molina with no Pikachu or Thole... our pitching staff would be looking a lot better. Molina would only have to catch once every 8-9 days and pinch hit a little.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Alex, do it!! wouldn't cost the team anything. Molina would be cheaper than Navarro and he'd probably take a back up role without being a girl about it.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Ike Davis DFA Lol I remember getting into it with some Mets fans when the Dickey trade was happening and there was a million rumours over a weekend before it became official. So many of them thought he was a future stud and completely untouchable.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 This is not as crazy as it sounds. It kinda is. Molina is old as s*** and just can't hit at all haha.

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 not all that important from the backup C. Fair enough.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Fair enough. If healthy Martin will catch 140 games. that only leaves 22 for the backup. I think Molina could work that out.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 If healthy Martin will catch 140 games. that only leaves 22 for the backup. I think Molina could work that out. You math is bad. Dickey + Thole 33 games
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 You math is bad. Dickey + Thole 33 games Dickey wont get to have a pet this year. Russell will be catching every game HE wants too. They have already alluded to Russell catching Dickey and Russell is a control kind of guy. it will be his call and Dickey will have to park his ego. Not that I could understand why Dickey ever had a saying in who catches him. especially after Thole showed that he wasn't very good.

Thole is probably a more talented hitter at this point in Molina's career.

I just think it's an interesting idea. lol... especially when AA referred to Molina play at 40 in one of the media scrums today.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 His bat has gone really downhill. Thole is probably a more talented hitter at this point in Molina's career. Refer to zeros post above, you're acquiring him for his catching skills, not his hitting skills. Still worth more that Thole on defense alone.

He is going to be even worse than last year.

Still worth more that Thole on defense alone. I get that you like Molina's defence. But he has no more pop, very slow, awful at putting the bat on the ball. Maybe his framing is good but you can get younger, more useful backup catchers for a dime a dozen which is why they DFA'd him. I mean do you really want to carry a 40 year old backup catcher on the roster just because of his defence? Terrible idea IMO.
