Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 When will we ever get another jose/eddy duo for only 23mil a season.. such a shame were not doing anything with it.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 really good summary of the 2014 Jays roster value http://imgur.com/a/jf8u5 It works out well that a bunch of the guys with negative value are FA's or can have their asses bought out after this season. Very lucky.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Based on that gif, AA is right. His bullpen provided a negative value of almost 20M
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 I was a little surprised McGowan's value was so negative. I thought he'd be even steven with his low salary.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Good question. I guess it doesn't matter much (they're both only going to pitch once anyway).Maybe they prefer Price at home? Pitch price on 3 days rest if there's elimination?
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) Dickey's F$ doesn't include his 5 DRS, possible 5-10 runs from Dickey Effect, and it also is at a conservative $5M/WAR. Good points. I hate to go down this path but if $5M/WAR is conservative then Trout is worth more than some teams entire salary... Edited October 3, 2014 by LongTimeReader

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Former Yankees OF prospect Jose Tabata has been DFAd by the Pirates. Wonder if the Jays should take a flyer on him?
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 hey your screen name is a lot like mine. You took the handle I wanted! lol I'm from Saskatoon, you?
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Jose Tabata DFA. Wouldn't be surprised if the Jays put a claim in.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Crap. Tabata is going to be the starting LF next season, isn't he?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 2015: $4.0M 2016: $4.5M 2017: $6.5M (team option, $250k buyout) 2018: $7.5M (team option, $250k buyout) 2019: $8.5M (team option, $250k buyout) He is 26. Best seasons were a 1.9 WAR in 2010 and 1.1 WAR in 2013. Seems like a decent defensive LF but terrible CF and RF. Yep, he'll be a Blue Jay soon. Pencil him in.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Does mac ever post on this board? He never made the transition haha. I'm trying to remember what his posting style was like. He was in a lot of arguments but I don't remember much about his actual writing. I think it was a lot like Ju1ced.

But he did always have to get his point across. It has been a while.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Josh Beckett retires. Daniel Murphy could be traded. Do it.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Arencibia is now a FA and can be signed because he declined outright. Do it AA. Perfect platoon partner for Adam Lind
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Rangers expected to decline $13.5M option on Alex Rios for next season.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Rangers expected to decline $13.5M option on Alex Rios for next season. Might be a solid replacement for Melky at a much cheaper price tag.

BTS Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Might be a solid replacement for Melky at a much cheaper price tag. He's basically a replacement-level hack now.

There seems to be a trend of wanting to get back players we ditched... -Hill -Rios -Marcum -Davis -Gomes -Alvarez -Hetch (sorta) -Arencibia (not serious) Maybe we shouldn't have given them up to begin with? Also, why would they come back? That's degrading.
