jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Detroit doing its best to hand KC the division, trailing 4-0 to the Twins early on. Royals are up 2-0 early. Edited September 27, 2014 by jaysfan2014
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 LA Angels could be relocating to Tustin or even Los Angeles (possibly near the proposed stadium for a future NFL team.) Apparently, the Angels want to get out of Angel Stadium ASAP.. they don't really want to be there long term, because the stadium is badly aging, and hasn't aged well, and hasn't gotten similar renovations like Dodger Stadium got.. of course, Dodger Stadium is historic.. Potentially big blow for sports in Anaheim: http://m.angels.mlb.com/news/article/96526284/angels-walk-away-from-stadium-deal-with-anaheim
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Welp, with the Royals' win, we officially are the owners of the longest active playoff drought in baseball. This franchise is a complete embarrassment, and quite frankly, deserves to be humiliated as long as Beeston, AA, and Gibbons continue to steal money from the organization.

Will you give that schtick a rest already? We get it already. We know we now have the longest streak. And Gibbons doesn't deserve to be fired.. he just needs better talent around him to coach. And Beeston's gone after this season anyway, as his contract is not expected to be renewed.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Watching the Yanks/Red Sox game.. they're talking about the next SS for the Yankees. Suggestion to the play-by-play guys.. None of their suggestions (Andrus, Tulo, Castro) are going anywhere, plus the Yanks don't have the prospect depth to acquire them. And HanRam is a 3B/DH playing SS.. And yes I know there is significant SS depth in Chicago.. but being so close to contention, Chicago will more likely move him to the OF than trade him.. they need OFs in Chicago along with pitching.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Hutch for Starlin Castro, who says no? Kind of feel like both teams say no...
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Hutch for Starlin Castro, who says no? Kind of feel like both teams say no... Agreed. And preferably, I would keep Castro and move him into the OF, possibly LF. Chicago is a little thin in OFs right now. I mean, they have 2B Arismendy Alcantara playing OF right now because of their IF depth. And considering his defensive issues at SS, Castro is likely headed for the outfield anyway within the next year or two.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Hutch for Starlin Castro, who says no? Kind of feel like both teams say no... I said this before in a GDT, and I think both teams say no as well.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 f***.....Pirates get walked off by a GS in the 10th. Guess they better prepare for the NL Wild Card game.. the Giants await on Wednesday.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Hutch for Starlin Castro, who says no? Kind of feel like both teams say no... Yeah, I agree. I really think we need to develop our own pitchers, and pay for hitters. Getting any FA pitchers to come here is going to be a nightmare.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Rajai Davis just left with a groin injury... not a good time for it, especially considering the Tigers are trying to avoid the tie-breaker and/or Wild Card game if Kansas City ends up tying or catching them.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 LOL KC couldn't get to John-f***ING-Danks today in the most important game of their lives! Not over yet. Tying run coming to the plate vs. Javy Guerra in the 9th with Gordon at 1st. And since the Tigers lost, the Royals need a win and a Tigers loss tomorrow to force a Monday tiebreaker. Ditto for the Pirates, as the Cards are losing to Arizona. So it'll come down to the last day. And will someone tell Seattle to score?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Royals lose. So at best, the Royals can only manage a tie if KC wins and the Tigers lose. Otherwise, they'll be hosting the play-in game vs. either the A's or Mariners (Mariners just tied it, Oakland has lost. And BTW, can someone calm those Mariners announcers down? They sound like they've been drinking tons of Red Bull.)

Pretty interesting since OAK just lost... if SEA wins tomorrow and OAK loses they are tied for WC-2.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 And KC loses. Seattle tied it up. Pretty interesting since OAK just lost... if SEA wins tomorrow and OAK loses they are tied for WC-2. Which means that if tied, OAK will have to fly to Safeco on Monday to play SEA. Then, the winner of THAT game goes to Kaufman Stadium in KC to play the Royals, or Comerica Park to play the Tigers. Potential 3 tiebreaker situations with KC/DET, OAK/SEA, and STL/PIT. Here's the situations: KC/DET tie: Detroit hosts OAK/SEA: Seattle hosts STL/PIT: St. Louis hosts We will see what happens. If it ends up with multiple ties, MLB and ESPN are going to have some issues..
