intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Hey, for the time being the Jays are back in a tie for first. Every loss for our competitors matters. The Jays aren't so hot right now, but we're scoreboard watching in July and that's... huge.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Tommy Milone optioned to AAA Sacramento to make room for Shark. What's your bet he gets traded soon?
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Tommy Milone optioned to AAA Sacramento to make room for Shark. What's your bet he gets traded soon? They should trade him. They don't have space for him and he's been good -- great if you go by traditional stats (ERA). He's a good depth piece, but you're wasting his value in the minors. Or they could keep Milone and sell very high on Chavez, but I wouldn't make that move unless it was a no-doubter. Literally all five guys in the Athletics rotation right now (Shark, Gray, Hammel, Kazmir, Chavez) are having career years. Which, btw, is f***ing stupid. The A's of the past few years have to be one of the luckiest teams ever in terms of guys panning out or having the best years of their career, whether it's the pitching, or whether it's Reddick, or Lowrie, or Cespedes, or Donaldson, or Moss, or Norris, Crisp, Jaso, or just about any f***ing player on their roster. Even their relief in Doolittle, Gregerson and Otero is ridiculous.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Tampa's winning 3-0 as we speak. But boy do they need help from Baltimore, Toronto, LA and Seattle's opponents.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 For the A's, they should trade him for a 2B, who they do need. Sogard/Punto/Callaspo won't cut it in the postseason. That's what f***ing hurts to see. Literally the only hole on their roster is 2B, and if the absolute worst thing about a team is that they've got Nick Punto at 2B then they're pretty much set for the entire damn season. Now they've got the pitching depth to even improve second base. Unless their players suddenly start falling to injury, the Athletics have to be the world series favorites by a country mile. Norris, Moss, Punto, Lowrie, Donaldson in the IF, Cespedes, Crisp and Gentry in the OF, and Jaso at DH. And that's with Reddick injured... I'm too lazy to check, but I would guess that outside of Punto, every single bat in the A's lineup is either on pace for a 3 fWAR season, or has had a 3 fWAR season in the past three years. Pair that with their incredible rotation, and their relief, where everyone that's good is incredible, and everyone that's bad is outperforming their peripherals, and I don't see how the A's ever lose a game.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Epic fail by Cervelli as he tries to get a DP.. he would've been better off just taking the force at home, as he threw the ball into RF trying to get a double play at 1st.. Yanks lose.
