TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 What do ya know... Yunel and reyes have the same good/bad ratio! Yunel has been atrocious. That's probably why he, someone who's name constantly came up by the people who love to bitch at AA, has barely been mentioned at all on this forum this year.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Some guys make plays "look better" often because they're shorter, their range can be deceiving, or they dive for balls they don't need to. I believe in shorthand, that's called "Jetering". "Jetering" at bat has a different meaning, it's diving out of the way of a pitch that is right down the middle of the plate.
flafson Verified Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Muni is little bit less than Pedroia, nice.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Another setback for Sabathia: Mark FeinsandVerified account @FeinsandNYDN Girardi said Sabathia is having another MRI on his knee after he experienced some swelling. Looks like the Yanks may have to trade for a pitcher sooner or later.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Erik Boland @eboland11 16m More Girardi said CC woke up with "swelling" in his right knee following rehab outing last night. Will be down again for a bit

It's like the opposite of the "Alex Rios Effect" - you look like you're moving slowly because of the long legs, really you're moving quite fast. Short players look like they're moving faster than they are, especially on TV when you don't have as much perspective. Alex Rios is 240-76 career in SB but nobody pegs him as a "speedster".

Will be down again for a bit Say goodbye to Gary Sanchez, their OF prospects, and possibly Dellin Betances in New York's system. I expect the Steinbrenners are going to get so desperate that they'll overpay for a starter and a bat by gutting the farm and trading Betances while his value is high.

They should probably just fold the franchise, wouldn't you say?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 They should probably just fold the franchise, wouldn't you say? What would George do with his farm? Considering they mortgaged the future to get McCann/Ellsbury/Beltran (paying draft picks and money), I have a feeling Hank and Hal are planning to sell the farm just to hope they can catch the Jays and Orioles in the AL East.

We get it, the Yanks, Orioles, Rays and Red Sox are all desperate. You have pointed this out on a daily basis.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 The Rangers are completely useless. Jesus.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 did the Jays ever have 14 players projected for over 18 fWAR on the DL at the same time? I'm not defending Daniels as he's made a lot of moves in the past two years that I didn't like...just don't think the two scenarios are similar. When you lose multiple starting players at the same time, you're going to suffer and will be hard-pressed to replace them. This is what I was referring to. Whether the Rangers were projected to be better than the Jays or not, may not be all that relevant to the point I raised, which is that the Rangers didn't have enough depth to deal with the myriad injuries they've had. In fairness, there probably isn't a team out there that could cope with the injuries they've had, but I think this also applies to the Jays last season.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 The Rangers are completely useless. Jesus. And Pena gets the Rangers on the board with a groundout. 1-1.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 BTW, the Yankees STILL can't score. Poor Tanaka.. 2-0 Twins.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Choo sends Chen out of the ballpark and gives the Rangers a 2-1 lead.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 In his MLB debut tonight, 3B Zelous Wheeler (strange name..) hit a 3-run shot vs. Phil Hughes. 4-2.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 f*** OFF Baltimore. Baltimore better enjoy it now.. Lester, Lackey and Peavy are scheduled to go in the series for the Red Sox. Perhaps the Red Sox cool those hot O's bats.
