Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Fugly lineup... welcome to the bigs glenn! You're batting 5th! We badly need someone that can hit lefties
Convo Verified Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 LoL Hey now, Glenn is going to be a BABIP MONSTER, just you wait!
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 LoL I'm glad they are at least willing to start at catcher at DH even when the third catcher is in the minors (Kratz) and the emergency catcher (Lawrie) is injured.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 We also don't have a back up middle infielder. Its amazing we are still winning games with these lineups being trotted out. That's not really true. The backup middle infielder just happens to be playing third and there is a 3B on the bench to replace him if he's needed in the MI.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Rays up 5-2 in the 9th . Thank you Rays cause our lineup has 5 AAA players and it doesn't get better till Bautista gets back.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Brutal lineup, but not much that can be done. If it's any consolation, though, the Jays just picked up half a game on the O's, who just lost to the Rays.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Gose over Rasmus? Hmmm. they both don't hit lefties, may as well put in the better defender
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 they both don't hit lefties, may as well put in the better defender Agreed. We'll need a hell of an effort from Dickey tonight too. On the O's: Outside of the White Sox handing them two come-from-behind victories, they certainly aren't playing like a team who wants to catch first place.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Our lineup is scary bad... It's like 1...2...3... Jump off a bridge.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Damn, we could pick up 1.5 games on Baltimore today. Beautiful.

BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Holy crap that's a horrible lineup. Isn't there anyone in AAA that hurts lefties? Dan Johnson?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Holy crap that's a horrible lineup. Isn't there anyone in AAA that hurts lefties? Dan Johnson? Dan Johnson's a lefty himself.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Watching MLB Network. Dunno if it was posted by the Angels got Grilli. Oh, wow, for Frieri. Great deal for the Bucs. Lol Angels.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Holy crap that's a horrible lineup. Isn't there anyone in AAA that hurts lefties? in their defense they tried to get Steve Pearce...but that failed so they just gave up.

A closer needing a change of scenery (Frieri) for a declining closer (Grilli).. bad trade for the Angels. Do the Angels even want to win the AL West or a wild card, or do they want to hand Seattle a spot?

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Red Sox calling up Mookie Betts.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Red Sox calling up Mookie Betts. Big game, maybe he sparks them. Hopefully he doesn't.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 pretty annoyed people are calling him a hot shot top prospect and phenom. He's +75 Yet another unnecessary hype train from the boston market. Not nearly as bad as the Yankee one, though.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Big game, maybe he sparks them. Hopefully he doesn't. A spark for just this series would be fine with me.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 in their defense they tried to get Steve Pearce...but that failed so they just gave up. lately it's been a lot of that. "we tried to get santana" "we tried to get kinsler" "we tried to get pearce" i mean i get it, this is toronto, not new york. it's gonna be harder to get s*** done but seriously that's no excuse for the lineup we have with only 2 regulars injured. even during our hot streak i questioned our lineup vs lefties..
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Here's how Mookie Betts was rated according to MLB.com: Hit: 60 | Power: 45 | Run: 60 | Arm: 45 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55 Basically, he's an above average hitter, who will be hitting a lot of singles and doubles, as he doesn't have a lot of HR power, which is not a good thing considering Boston ranks 15th in slugging percentage, with only David Ortiz showing any signs of power. Unfortunately, hitters will be running on him, as he has a weak arm and mediocre fielding skills. He's playing OF because Dustin Pedroia is at 2B for the next decade. Mike Trout he isn't.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 More of an Altuve than Trout Agreed. And that is NOT what Boston needs right now. They need a big power bat in that lineup, such as Giancarlo Stanton.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Every team needs a Stanton in their lineup! True. But Boston desperately needs a big bat. They can't expect David Ortiz to continue to be their entire power output, especially with the rest of the lineup regressing and their extra-base power near the bottom of the league (15th of 15 in SLG, 14th in OPS, hurt by a 14th ranked batting average)
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Good news for the Jays. Kevin Kiermaier(what a glove he has!) just hit a 2-run bomb to give the Rays a 5-0 lead, and Chen is out after only 3.1 IP. Now we wait for the Yanks/Red Sox game (Sportsnet, FOX tonight at 7pm)
