KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Mookie Betts* (Red Sox Prospect) currently has a 70 game on base streak going, in those 70 games he's averaged over 2 times on base per game. He has as many doubles and triples in that streak than he does strikeouts (24). Tonight he has a chance to tie the minor league on base streak record of 71 games, set by Kevin Millar/Kevin Youkilis. *Not trying to pimp my own player. It's a pretty amazing streak Best prospect in baseball.

It's crazy how well Weaver had adapted to his lack of velocity (remember, 2010 was his best year overall).

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 His real name is Markus. Jealous much?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Unfortunately, unless Mookie Betts learns to play LF, he won't see Boston anytime soon, with Pedroia blocking 2B and Xander Bogaerts at SS, along with Will Middlebrooks and Gavin Cecchini at 3B.

Tons of trade bait for sure. Man I hate the Red Sox.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Not terribly surprising considering he's burning thru his pitch count in 4-5 innings on the reg and giving up a ton of gopherballs. The velo is also down 3 MPH this year, so either he's got durability issues or an underlying injury, both of which have been red flags on him in the past.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Salazar optioned to AAA Holy s***. f***
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Guy reminds me of Brandon Morrow. Good thing you pawned him off on Darrell at the peak of his value.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Salazar's home run problems are for real, it's hard to get away with a 33% GB rate. He hasn't been bad enough to send down though IMO.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Is Bauer going to be in the big league rotation now? Kyle Crockett call up (RP-LH)
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 xFIP doesn't matter when a guy like Salazar can't get out of the 5th inning in his starts. We saw Terry Francona have to heavily use his bullpen yesterday.. and they have a difficult series vs. Oakland this weekend. I expect Bauer will be called up next time they need a starter.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 More details about the Mitch Williams incident coming out now. Witnesses: Mitch Williams Called Child "A Pussy," Ordered Beanball These are ten year olds, by the way. Classy!
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 What a mess in Cleveland tonight.. McAllister doesn't get out of the 2nd inning. Makes that short start by Salazar look worse.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Anyone have a ESPN IN? I know hurl does.. Just curious if someone could post their "top 25 prospects of the last 10 years"..looks like a fun read

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 D’Backs Hire Tony La Russa To Oversee Operations You gotta hand it to Towers, he managed a pretty impressive run for what an incredible f***ing moron he is. I give Towers until August to resign or be fired
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Joey Gallo is a monster. 17 HR already. 231 wRC+ in A+. He can also hit 99mph from the mound. His minor numbers are impressive. That 373 BABIP won't be sustainable though.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Joey Gallo is a man after my heart. Plus, he murdered a bunch of dudes... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Gallo
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Some minor league high BABIPs can be talent (Trout) but I doubt Gallo can keep that up. His K% down and BB% are excellent though. They can really use that 99 mph on the mound, f*** are they struggling to keep pitchers healthy
