Whatever, Spanky got banned on a weekly basis back on the old board. I'm sure it won't deter him.

 

As long as it's two self assured arrogant posters going at it who both dish it out...there should be no bannings....this is the offseason. There's a lull in topics. These types of spats are the equivalent of the real housewives shows that my wife watches......banning this type of entertainment seems silly to me....more drunken posting spats I say...lol

Letting Moh You aggravate everyone but letting it slide because he wasn't being aggressive or making personal attacks

 

Banning njh because he was the first to cross the (arbitrary) line I set when things were getting out of hand the other night

Honestly the best thing to do in my opinion is to quit mentioning it.

 

I haven't been posting here much since the new board, but now that I am... I feel like I can't escape the premise of mods. Just do what you guys do and quit bringing it up or mentioning it in public threads.

I started a new around baseball thread last night and said keep it on topic, after closing the other one they ruined. His first post was a typical spanky comment so I warned him. Two minutes later he posted another one. I'm sure he was going until he got banned last night.

I don't think anyone is actually bothered by the moderation. You guys are doing a fine job. Except for letting that f***ing dipshit MohYou get to 1K posts. That was egregious and indefensible.

I have no problem with the Spanky ban myself. A little humour is fine but pages and pages of dick measuring contests (sometimes literal) is tedious as f***. You gave him more than fair warning but there's only so much you can do when someone has gone off the rails.

It DOES make it harder that the mods here are regular posters rather than anonymous beings. Definitively makes it more difficult.

This whole issue over the past few days was stirred up by a poster, not moderator. That is always the case. We have no reason to bring up anything mod related and we never do. We have our own mod forum and we keep things private there. However, when called out or questioned publicly, we must address it.

 

We're human too and while some feel its best to insult or belittle us, it's absolutely pathetic and shows little class. There are better ways to handle these things like PM. As I said before we don't get anything out of this except trying to make this a better place for everyone and we do it on our own time.

 

We hope everyone will trust our judgement, but a small handful usually like to stir s*** up and rile up the whole forum without knowing any of the facts. Nothing we can do about that other than address the forum publicly when something needs to be said.

 

That aside, let's just get back to baseball talk, nothing else needs to be said.

Admin just made exactly that point in the mods forum and I agree 100%

 

There have been useful points brought up over the last 24 hours, and we have learned some things, but it's enough now. New rules have been put up. We will lock the garbage threads that are mostly related to complaining and ban discussion and bickering.

 

We will go back to doing our jobs. We will do what we think is best for the board. Over and out. Enough said.
