You know what I hated about the old board? The fact that so many discussions became endless bickering at stupid s***. That threads became clogged with people yelling at each other. That you'd have to skip whole pages in a thread to find a post about the original baseball topic it was supposed to cover. That posters couldn't just let bygones be bygones and instead would start dragging out the same personal grievances in every thread. That there were more posts about the "characters" on the board than actual baseball discussions

 

Well guess what? That's what's happening here. It's not just CHP and Moh You either, even though a very vocal part of this board would love for us to get rid of both of them. But that won't be enough. I would just like to see everyone (those guys AND their detractors) post about baseball. If you disagree, fine. Say so. Make your point. Let the other make his. Then leave it at that. 20 more posts about who said what a week ago, or about who has better English, or about who has the hottest girlfriend is just tiresome ******** that none of us want to hear. CALM THE f*** DOWN.

 

Short term bans on anyone who just deliberately stirs s*** up is going to be the new norm for a while until people "get it"

NJH was sent a message as a result of the banning asking him to cut it out and things would be worked out. Something went wrong and suddenly none of us can moderate anything with NJH's account. He's not even searchable anymore. We are awaiting on Admin to sign on.

If permaban'd it should be noted that we can restore the 1260 post count...but not the number of thanks. Don't think that's not a motivating factor in just re-instating now.

How long was he banned? 5 days? I do support more active moderation around here but that might be a bit much for that offense.

 

Yes it was. Mods met to discuss and decided one day was adequate.

 

Again it was just a short ban to send a message that we actually do moderate on here. As much as it kills us sometimes we try not to discriminate. Whether you a quality regular or a s*** disturber it a brand new poster the same rules apply. The only thing we will say is that repeat offenders will be given stiffer penalties or permabanned (Eg. metallijay)

Well f***, I thought one of the main points in starting this forum was gathering up guys like NJH and keeping them growing in the community. So much for that.

I've seen trolls here get away with more s*** than that.

Pretty uncharacteristic of NJH though. Seems almost as if he started experiementing with alcohol for the first time and started blurtting and posting random e-tuff s***. I think it was all in jest though.

So what does this mean for the blog now?

puzzles are great brain work, but they take up too much room because I wont even do one that's under 2000 pieces. Last one I did was 10k. it was a ship on the ocean. it was a lot of blue and white.

Agree, we need some news This place has become a s*** place to hang out the last few weeks, despite the fact that I like so many of the posters here. There's just nothing to talk about. One crazy week of signings and trades has meant almost nothing interesting has happened since. Need it spread out more!
