GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Dan Johnson > EE/Lind? His vetrin presents are worth about 5.7 WAR so sounds about right

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Why does every minor league signing get blown into stupidly epic proportions every f***ing year? because last year they signed DeRosa very early on and he ended up playing a s*** load of innings for a guy no one thought would get off the bench. AA strikes fear into the fan base.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 DeRosa was signed to a major league deal, not a minor league one.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 He'll be starting in our team when the injury plague hits. Our team? They are trading him to the Rays
kgm1 Verified Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Why does every minor league signing get blown into stupidly epic proportions every f***ing year? Because stupidity reins supreme at this time of year . Buffalo needs a DH/1B and i for one really want to keep that city happy so I thought this was a good move . Who do they think AA should sign to play in Buffalo Kendrys Morales ??

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 This was mentioned in numerous places.. This morning.. If you're at least gonna make a thing for f***ing Dan Johnson, have it called "Bluejays sign Johnson" creates a lot more intrigue.
oakville69 Verified Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 No? Get him out of this organization, I don't ever want to see him in a blue jays uniform again. I haven't seen this much anger towards a Blue Jay since Aaron Hill . JPA had a very bad season but I don't understand all the hate towards him. I am sure he can improve next year. That doesn't mean he gets the starting job in 2014, but wouldn't he be a reliable back up?

Get him the f*** out.

Remember, one of the catchers has to be able to catch Dickey, imo this was one of the negatives of getting Dickey or any knuckleballer, so this eliminates JPA from the backup role, not that I'd want to have him there.

So does that mean Thole is guaranteed the back up spot? Could Ruiz or Hannigan or Jose Molina catch Dickey? It seems like the Jays are handcuffed with Dickey because he needs a personal catcher.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 It's still way too early in the offseason to be resorting to these types of threads. Players like Dan Johnson get signed to minor league contracts all the time, especially early in November like this. Has one of the other 29 teams gone out and made a big splash yet? No. Unless you consider the Phillies signing Marlon Byrd one. If this was in January and the Jays made zero moves at all, then I could understand your anger. Though right now in the middle of November, c'mon lol!
