Chappy Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Ditto. I was just telling my dad today that AA should be trading Bautista to offload salary and get a decent return, but that there was NO WAY he would have the guts to do it. After last winter, I wouldn't put anything past AA.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Maybe AA dumps the Buehrle contract with Bautista? That would be rather intriguing wouldn't it, especially if Buehrle has quietly asked for a trade. Brown + Lee would be a good fit (even better if we could pawn Brown off for something good like a young starter from the Cards).
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 So... This is looking like a fake call

Brown + Lee would be a good fit (even better if we could pawn Brown off for something good like a young starter from the Cards). The salaries would work as well. Lee is set to make $25 million with Brown being irrelevant right now and Bautista/Buehrle combine for about $31 million. Close enough to get some serious discussions going.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Ruben Amaro Jr is probably the dumbest f***ing GM of the past decade. He single handedly ruined a potential dynasty set up by Gillick via ridiculous contracts and trades. This is the guy who is responsible for the Ryan Howard contract among a variety of other disasters. If AA gets outsmarted by this guy... well.... I won't really know what to say. Gotta be between him and Ed Wade. Bavasi was pretty bad too.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I highly highly doubt that AA would trade Bautista
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 1 hour ago, nothing since. Once Kenny Ken puts the final word on it, this will be done. I will be awake anxiously waiting for his response. I think we were hoaxed
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang not happening
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 this rumor will die, there is no way AA is this retarded
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Can we dream of a Brown, Melky Outfield? If I really believed that the Jays would consider moving Brown to DH at least half the time I wouldn't even think it's horrible if the other piece has some value. Teams could stack lefties against us Lind, Brown, Gose...leaves us very few options. We only hit 44 HR's off lefties this year and 19 of those came from players who likely wouldn't be with the team anymore...if this rumour were to be real
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 this rumor will die, there is no way AA is this retarded 27 HR's in 140 games, former top 5 prospect...that's exactly the kind of player our retarded GM would pursue. He just needs the right pitching name to come up an he's in.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 It's hard to picture the jays without Bautista. The casuals would go insane!
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 This guy is semi credible though?;he's not just some random ass guy Like Rogers centre employee from a few years ago, or Gavin Floyd's wife's cousin Well I think he'll lose all his credibility after tonight. JP Morosi and Kenny Rosy, both known to retweet and comment on *almost* every accurate rumor, decided to pass on this. Also so did MLBTR. That's saying a lot right there lol

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 It is very smart to move a declining yet still highly valued JB

TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 It is very smart to move a declining yet still highly valued JB Absolutely...but not if you aren't going to strengthen a weakness. As bad as it would be for the Jays it really is 100 times worse for the Phils. You only trade Bautista to rebuild or to continue the all in mentality and trade him to fill a pitching need.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 DOMINIC BROWN iS A BORAS CLIENT THROW WATER ON THE ENTIRE f***ING THING RIGHT NOW. goodbye. Jays don't have issues with a Boras player...it's Boras that rightfully won't deal with the Jays.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Jays don't have issues with a Boras player...it's Boras that rightfully won't deal with the Jays. How do you figure .... And why got random guy in your pic?? hahaha
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 DOMINIC BROWN iS A BORAS CLIENT THROW WATER ON THE ENTIRE f***ING THING RIGHT NOW. goodbye. Doesn't matter. The Jays would control him for 4 years. They can simply pay him the min next year, then take him to arbitration for the following 3 years if Boras wants to be an idiot.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 How do you figure .... And why got random guy in your pic?? hahaha Beeston broke code and cost a Boras client a year of college. It was a BS move and Boras will make him pay as long as he's here. As for my photo, I don't hide it ever that I'm a Boras guy, think he's probably one of the smartest guys in the game. I can't say for certain that the Jays would deal for a Boras guy but I do believe that Beeston was in the wrong with Paxton and Boras will never forget it.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Jays don't have issues with a Boras player...it's Boras that rightfully won't deal with the Jays. Which means no Choo. No Choo = no possible replacement for Bautista I don't think Bautista should be traded, regardless of how old he is/declining. Unless we get a young, promising, MLB ready RF and another hole fixed.

Boras doesn't do any teams any favours -- he's an agent. As such, his job is to make the most money for his client and, implicitly, himself. He'd be a poor and likely unique agent if he turned down the best offer just because it was coming from the Jays. What's more, the Jays are one of the teams with a big chequebook; if he doesn't involve them in the mix with his clients, he's losing leverage at the very least. Boras may be sore about the Paxton thing, but surely the best way to strike back is to lumber the Jays with a heavy contract than to hurt your own business.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 LOL this f***ing guy actually trolls his own fans by cheering on the Cowboys against the Eagles in Philly and posts pics of it on Twitter. This is EXACTLY what we need on this team another Twitter internet warrior!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 (edited) Won't happen. Not concerned. Agree this particular deal is not happening. However, I previously thought it was very, very unlikely that Bautista gets traded. Now I'm thinking 50/50. I actually do think AA is shopping him to see what he could get. A quality starter and younger OF and he pulls the trigger, sending Bautista and another piece the other way. Edited November 13, 2013 by G-Snarls
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 holy f***ing s*** this was not what I expected to wake up to at least this is BS
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 We better get Cliff Lee. Brown isn't very good... he has power, that's it. No Profar or Stantonnnnnnnnnnnn
