f*** you all. That quote deserve his own thread.

What potential?

The Jays were known to be looking to improve behind the plate this winter and current catcher J.P. Arencibia has drawn trade interest from other teams. Davidi says there is some feeling that Arencibia has too much "accumulated baggage" in Toronto and might not reach his potential in a Blue Jay uniform. Arencibia is projected to earn $2.8MM as a first-time arbitration eligible player this winter and the Jays would certainly prefer getting something back for him in a trade than simply non-tendering him.

I can't believe Arencibia would actually fetch us something.

I'll take anything we can get for him. Anything.

I'm just so glad AA is (almost certainly) planning to get rid of him.

Inb4 Arencibia becomes the next posada for another team

Uh, no. He doesn't have near the on base ability Posada had.

No but with his power he'd be a good player if he could get the obp close or just over .300.

What does it say about the jays if he hit .260 .310 .500 with anothe team??

A) He won't

B) Even if he does no way does he become even a adequate defensive player so I still don't want him

C) He's too much a of a distraction

D) Getting rid of him now is the right thing to do regardless of what he ends up doing elsewhere. They have too much at stake over the next two years to NOT upgrade at such a critical position and there are better players available via free agency.

JP Arencibia and Wilin Rosario could be a nasty duo. +50 dingers and -50 DRS

JPA + s*** for Josh Rutledge

I have no idea why COL does this

I heard Colorado is in the market for another catcher since they want Rosario to play half of the games at first base. I'm sure JPA would thrive power-wise at Coors Field - he likely would hit between 30-35 HR's, though his other overall numbers would be pretty awful.

He would look FANTASTIC in a Rockies uniform

'cause they love flyballs hitters

I wonder if St. Louis trades for Rutledge if the Rockies refuse to move Tulo? I suppose the Cards would rather turn their attention to Profar so if that were the case maybe Rutledge would be on the table for Toronto. In any case, you have to figure there is no way both Rockies shortstops will be moved.

The Arencibia's ego and dingers could suffer a substantial increase in Colorado.

Yep. Just yet another in a long line of failed offensive top prospects.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

If we go into this season with JPA as our catcher I'm shutting this forum down!

It would be for the best.

How about Anthopoulos also brings him his own personal hitting coach. A PR coach would also help. A bit of steroids and you might produce a 2 War catcher

If the Jays made the playoffs you'd have to shut down this forum. Only half kidding, what would people have to talk about if they couldn't s*** on
