Saltalamacchia would be a disaster here. Basically a slightly better version of Arencibia and with the bright minds in this organization could easily turn him into Arencibia. Pierzynski has a rep of being the world's biggest *******, even bigger of an ******* than the guys we already have on this team. I can see him not being a disaster on the field but a huge one off the field with this volatile clubhouse. That leaves the other two catchers mentioned as viable candidates with McCann being pursued by everybody.

The man was benched for most of the World Series in favour of career all-star David Ross. Whether or not you see logic behind my particular argument that benching should be a sign that he isn't exactly the solution to the Jays backstop issues.

Salty had a huge BABIP spike this year and this was actually the first year he's even posted an above average year at the plate, much less behind it. He's a useful player in his own right but based on what he'll get paid, I would probably stay away considering there are better options for cheaper.
