Stroman in the AFL tonight

Not sure if anyone else saw his outing. Struck out 5 of the 6 batters he's faced through two innings. Nasty slider, change looks good too.

Watched him tonight, he's the real deal gets all of his secondaries over for strikes and pounds the zone.

Andy Burns looks like he could be something as well.

Stroman is our no. 1 prospect. His numbers were comparable to Syndergaard this year.

 

AA will probably end up trading him for John Danks.

This is so true. With the cost and quality of available free agent starters these days, and the massive trade cost for top of the rotation starters, you need to produce some of your own.

I'm starting to think Stroman's stuff may be just as good. Velocity is a tick less but those secondary pitches all look legit now. And he obviously has better control.

The Sanchez fastball-curveball combo is one of the best in the whole minor league system. Stroman is too prone to allow dingers. He's a good pitching prospect but behind Sanchez stuff IMO.

The jays best chance at contending is having a guy like stroman step into the rotation and be a legit starter. The rays have young guys do it successfully all the time, now it's our turn.
