z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 That list seems to put HUGE weight on this last season. You can make a case why the most recent season is the most important, but still seems a little off. Either way, small victory for me and my DDL team with a whopping 7 players on my MiLB squad (if you include Bundy who may as well be) with and 8th with a ranking of ???

I have 8 with 4 on the HR list. But he clearly rates new draftees way to high
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 I gutted my farm so no surprise that I'm not in the top 75. I still landed 4 in the HR list though. I'll take that.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 9 out of my 12 prospects are on that list(1 of the 3 that didn't make the list is Puig). And then I also have 3 players on my roster that are on that list. So 12 "War Puigs" total on the list. With the lead Puig himself over the AB limit.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 And 39 and 55. Not bad considering I traded 25, 31, 37, 38, 42, 66 and two HMs.
ByronBlaze Verified Member Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Glad you posted this so I could read about how many prospects everyone owns.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Glad you posted this so I could read about how many prospects everyone owns. if you stick around long enough you can seeing the dick measuring contest too
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 if you stick around long enough you can seeing the dick measuring contest too You already missed out on that. That was held in another thread.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 It was a really short thread though...
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 Are you here all week?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Joc Pederson was a great pick in the DDL. I think these lists are far too reactionary, Buxton had a really good year, but it was just one year. How is Taveras now 10 just because he was injured? Shouldn't these rankings be about who is likely to make a big splash in the majors?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 I'm #1 bitchezzzzz Omgzzzz can I haz your autograf?!?

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Yeah I really like Joc. I was going to foolishly re-draft him in our second draft. I do not like Joc. Seems like a 2nd division regular to me. #scouting
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I like Sickels' info and descriptions a lot more than I tend to like his grades and rankings.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Sooo. We really really did trade our two best prospects for RAD didn't we?
theblujay Verified Member Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Our system is kind of in shambles. The only guys who really have a case for top-100 status are Stroman and Sanchez, and both are in the ~50 range, with Sanchez slipping fast. All our potential is on the way to Lansing

Probably easier to argue without the injury but meh.
theblujay Verified Member Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Is there a team in the league whose fans aren't excited about their low-minors prospects? I wasn't really this time last year. You're probably right but I think we have even more depth and talent than most other teams at that level.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Is there a team in the league whose fans aren't excited about their low-minors prospects? Could you say that about the jays during 2005-2009, nope just snider and thats a big failure. Something is better then nothing
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Could you say that about the jays during 2005-2009, nope just snider and thats a big failure. Something is better then nothing If you go back to the threads from those years on the old board, you'll find plenty of fapping over guys who didn't amount to anything not just Snider. Fan bases always look for silver linings and they always find prospects to get excited about.

Fan bases always look for silver linings and they always find prospects to get excited about. I didn't really talk to other fans around that time, but just to throw some names I was excited about, I had some hopes for guys like Cooper, Thigpen, Purcey, Hill, Jackson, etc.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Sure. People were really excited about Snider, Romero, Thigpen, Rosario, Fuenmayor, Patterson, Lind, Purcey, Jackson, Tolisano, Diaz, Cecil, Stewart, Ahrens, Adams, f***, even Chip Cannon. Balbino Fuenmayor <3 Jesse Litsch was even something to almost get excited about.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 The worst was Thigpen. People had HIGH hopes for Curtis Thigpen. What kind of hopes were there? I always kind of saw him as a high average, low power catcher with solid defense but I didn't follow baseball nearly as closely.
