eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 That must be one smart and dextrous donkey! Hahahahaha Anyone ever watch the Vice documentary on youtube about people in Columbian villages and their donkey wives?
EdelweissBouquet Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 My wife is a M.D....... Surgeon. So what you're saying, is that if the thread was about space stations, your uncle would be an astronaut
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 I read the story on SN, and the doctors are saying it did in fact effect his legs, that's just nuts. So, he was playing with two bad hammies, a quad strain and a tumour on his spine?! We're in for a much better Melky in 14'. and Boni has played without a brain.... not sure a cat scan is going to help him though
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Anyone think they might buy out Adam Lind and have Melky mostly play DH next year?
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 Anyone think they might buy out Adam Lind and have Melky mostly play DH next year? Nah.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 A good season of Melky (.300 BA, .350 OBP, 15 HR) could really help this team a lot.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Nah. A flat out buyout of Lind seems unlikely but he's worth at least shopping around. A team that's looking at Lind is probably better off just signing Morales but maybe it makes sense in a deal with salaries moving both ways. I for one wouldn't mind taking Melky off the field to help his recovery at least I wouldn't mind if what you get back for Lind plugs an existing hole. Otherwise, you're just adding a hole.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Anybody could get a tumor, but it does make you wonder about the side effects of HGH/PEDs.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Otherwise, you're just adding a hole. they added enough Holes last off season.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Anybody could get a tumor, but it does make you wonder about the side effects of HGH/PEDs. wasn't there several players who died of brain tumors??? (googled and found it) http://healthland.time.com/2011/06/03/is-brain-cancer-stalking-major-league-baseball/
Convo Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 The thing that irritates the f*** out of me is that it's only now that Melky has told the team about his back pains and he's said it's actually been bothering him for four months. This could have been diagnosed much sooner. Not only did this cost the team but it's very fortunate for him that it's benign. This could have had life altering consequences for him. Players seriously need to stop doing this. Hiding injuries is not only counter-productive and dishonest but it's potentially very dangerous for their health. Decidedly convenient. This is the same guy that faked a website or faked a product on a website to try and falsify his PED use. Tumor my ass.
Convo Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 A good season of Melky (.300 BA, .350 OBP, 15 HR) could really help this team a lot. Are you guys purposely being naive? Have you watched Melky play?? Melky off PEDs is not even replacement value.
Convo Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 And why did Boxcar get banned?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Decidedly convenient. This is the same guy that faked a website or faked a product on a website to try and falsify his PED use. Tumor my ass. So he made a story about a tumour and the club and the media are just playing along? Give me a break with the idiotic conspiracy theory.

(googled and found it) http://healthland.time.com/2011/06/03/is-brain-cancer-stalking-major-league-baseball/ "Still, about 1,600 men wear a Major League uniform in any one season and over the course of 25 years —with some players leaving the sport after just a few seasons and others sticking around much longer — that adds up to about 5,200. Against that, six players jibes pretty closely with the glioblastoma incidence in the general population." Interesting article. Basically show how tenuous (if not downright non-existent) the connection between tumors and steroids is.

Convo Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 there is a long enough list of what steroids does to abusers that we dont need to add on other things Since there are so many different types of steroids, just saying "steroid" is extremely general term, obviously some are going to come with more negative long-term effects than others.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 yer dumn pity a fool with a tumor in his ass. (Tumor is the name of a his gigolo.)
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 there is a long enough list of what steroids does to abusers that we dont need to add on other things Hormones and growth factors have been linked to increased tumour rates. Seeing as we don't know what Melky put in to his body it is impossible to say this tumour was unrelated.
