The commissioner brought this on himself.

 

It all started with Vick. He decided to suspend him optically by banning him for two years. Although, closer scrutiny reveals Vick was suspended the day he plead guilty and reinstated only days after he was released.

So, the NFL 'suspension' didn't actually cost him a single game.

 

But, suddenly that became the bar, so the public expects every crime that's on a level with Vick to get a similar suspension. Goodell can't come out and say: 'hey, we didn't actually suspend Vick at all, that was just a smokescreen to make you idiots think we care about animal cruelty'.

 

Suspending a star player has a significant impact on the NFL team that owns him, so ideally he wants to leave it up to the team, but the teams show over and over again that they really only care about winning and money. If Osama Bin Laden was alive and a talented wide receiver, some team would probably try to sneak him past the public.

 

Frankly, I don't think the public even cares about these guys. If it wasn't for the fact that sponsors are pulling out, I don't think the NFL or the teams would give the players anything more than a slap on the wrist.

Lol man..I was just about to come on here asking if anyone was a Bucs and Jays fan.

 

Falcons had 49 points before the Bucs had 4 first downs...Think of how bad that is.

Bucs will probably be a good bet on the spread next week though.

 

Losing by (likely) 60+ points on national tv = inflated line.

 

They will have 10 days to prepare, get a bunch of starters back ( Doug Martin, McCoy, ect)

Not at all. I pretty rarely will do leagues with the Thursday night game because then my lineup is locked in. I'm just a sucker for the Bucs...even when their God awful.

Who's everyone betting on today? I have Tampa +8 and New England -3.

 

Sharps like the Titans today....not really sure why though so I'm staying away from it.

 

Might sound stupid but who's Sharps? As a Colts fan that watches every game I could see the Titans keeping it, or the Colts blowing them out completely. I think it will be one or the other.

A sharp is a term for a professional sports better.

 

They were defenitly wrong on the Titans. Last week they nailed the Giants and Pittsburgh when public money was 80% on the other side

Their offensive line has been really good. Most QBs when they have time to throw have a great running game will put up good numbers. Look at what Andrew Luck has done this year with an improved offensive line.

They were 1 game away(with Kyle Ortan as QB) from winning the division last year and they improved their O-line in the offseason. I think they could very well win the division this year especially when the Eagles haven't looked very good despite 3 wins.

Who's everyone betting on tonight? Early public money was on the underdog KC (which is rare). Probably because New England struggled against Oakland. I got locked in when the spread was at -3 for New England. I like New England tonight.

Looks really bad lol. I don't even bet the NFL anymore. Realized you will never win with any consistency.

 

I've done quite well in the past, not having a great start to this season though. I'm about even.
