He should start the year with a bench spot and the ability to earn time if warranted. A team that's trying to win can't give a player like Gose a full-time spot to start the season.

 

He is an upgrade to Melky just by stepping foot in the outfield...so yes he should start day 1 as long as he does what he has the last 2 weeks.

Yes the whole babying of the starters is stupid. Throwing more strengthen's the arm. Obviously you can't abuse them but pitchers use to throw all the time. 300+ innings and had long 15 year careers.

 

Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan both say pitch counts are ********. two of the best pitchers ever.... I'll take what they are saying
