They may have interest in Buehrle, but not likely in a deal for Kendrick. They aren't winning this year, and they can take the 2/37 Buehrle is owed and get a better pitcher in the offseason while keeping Kendrick. I don't think we have the pieces for him.

If the Jays swallow half of MB's salary,the Angels do it. MB(half of remaining salary) + Delabar for Kendrick. MB and Kendrick become a financial wash and the Angels get Delabar on the cheap. I don't think AA eats half of MB's salary though. That would mean we would be paying Kendrick $19mil / year for two years to play second base,plus losing Delabar.

Young controllable MLB-ready SP. IMO Nolin, Stroman, Hutch are what they would be after not MB or SD. Buehrle's contract has negative value so it would take quite a bit more than him to land Kendrick.

AA wants to compete next year. It would be hard to lose Stroman + Buehrle and remain competitive. The extra payroll space ($12.65M) would be a big bonus. Maybe the Jays could use most of that money on Garza? Then the question becomes is MB + Stroman + Janssen worth Garza + Kendrick? I'm beginning to buy in on Stroman as a legit MLB SP. IMO his performance shouldn't be that far off from Garza's over the next 3 years and he'll be a lot cheaper. For that reason I'll pass, I'd still like to see MB and Janssen moved probably get more value in separate deals though.

Yeah... I wouldn't do it if I was AA.... but I wouldn't do it without if I were the Angels either.

 

Maybe MB for Kendrick + Janssen, where Jays pony up 10 million of the contract. Maybe if I were the Angels I would want DMAC as well, just in the off chance you can have him start next year.... I would want another potential starter if I were the Angels.
