ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 AA has been (thankfully) told not to make any transactions until his position is reviewed. He can't even DFA anyone right now, he must be stuffing his face instead.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Well he's not actually reporting anything. "Oliver and Casey have been mentioned." Well of course they've been mentioned lol. And Rosenthal did say that the Jays want to move Boni and Melky. Sure. Probably why Gibby isn't playing Bonifacio much lately. He only lowers his trade "value" and increases risk of injury by actually playing Edit: forgot momentarily about his HR tonight. LOL
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Analysis The White Sox didn't do terribly. Avisail Garcia is a big upside player, lots of scouts like his toolset. Can't comment on the lower minors guys, but they're probably worth some change. The Tigers lose value in a vacuum, but they don't exist in a vacuum. Losing Peralta to suspension for the rest of the year creates a massive black hole, and they did what they had to do to plug said hole and go for a championship. Iglesias is all glove, sure, but it's quite a f***ing glove. Fantasy guys, now might be a decent time to buy on Rick Porcello. The Red Sox profit. It's basically arbitrage (by the White Sox, but it favors Boston). Iglesias is worth way more to Detroit right now than he would normally be worth, in a more typical context. Kudos to Ben Cherington for pulling it off, but at the same time, let's temper expectations for Jake Peavy. Even if he was the best arm on the market, he's still a guy that carries some risk, comes with some significant salary, and probably projects for something like a 4.00 FIP/ERA in the future.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 When Cherington became in better GM than Alex? -- After Dodgers trade? Dodgers/Happ trade was the turning point. AA went retard and Cherington can do no wrong since then.

FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 What do you think of Cherington now, BTS? Have fun gloating now, but don't come crying on here later when Peavy inevitably blows out his shoulder again.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Molina to DL JPA to Cards for Wong lol JPA has power and personality, now that he canceled his twitter account the Cardinals could CONVERT him into Buster Posey + 40 HR's pop. True Cards
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 it's a good thing that Peavy cost the Red Sox little cause I thought them trading for him was pretty stupid anyway. When Buchholz is back he replaces Doubront who has outpitched Peavy all season (Dempster makes more sense to go to the pen but I don't think they will do that to a veteran starter). It's not like Peavy sees a start in the playoffs should they get there. got to say that the White Sox got the best name in the trade with Cleuluis Rondon...and I thought the Jays had the market on the clueless players covered.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I can't rely on Buchholz anymore. I suppose, I just read that it's late August possibly for his return. Gives options to the team which I suppose is never bad. They will have 4 final year of their contract starters next year.
admin Site Manager Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Bautista for Taillon. Is it any coincidence that the Pirates have one of the best ERA's in baseball and Martin is behind the plate?

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I have got a feeling the Jays are going to be quiet today. I would like to see what we could get for Jansen and Delabar but I don't have me hopes high for today. AA has been disappointing a lot lately.
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Why is Oliver still here? Nothing against the guy but give him a chance to win some where. He's retiring.
flafson Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Why is Oliver still here? Nothing against the guy but give him a chance to win some where. He's retiring. Probably because no one wants to pay money for a rental? Specially that old who wants to retire...

Laika Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Really thinking that going after Ian Kennedy could be a good move. It's a buy low, his salary isn't prohibitive, he comes with some control, he has some upside, and Towers seems really motivated to move him (which is justifiable given their depth). He also fits "the timeline". Arb 2 and 3 in 2014/15, and then he's off the books for the next pseudo-rebuild.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Don't know much about Owings defence but, Chris Owings + Ian Kenndy seems like it could help the Jays. Any idea what the D-Backs want for Kennedy?

Any idea what the D-Backs want for Kennedy? Owings is fairly legit and his stock is on the rise. They probably don't move him. I could see them moving Kennedy for a guy like Janssen. They're only a few games back in the division, and 2nd in baseball in blown saves.

Please do something AA I'd be mad if Rasmus and Encarnacion were traded, but other than that, AA needs to wake up and move the rest of these bums. Sick of watching this loser team.

Any idea what the D-Backs want for Kennedy? Kennedy price should be high, 3 arbitrage years remaining. If Kennedy's price is high I'll pass, don't like the idea to add an expensive flyball pitcher.
