DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Am I the only one who thinks there's very little chance McCann leaves Atlanta? Evan Gattis has less than 300 major league innings at C, and the Braves aren't really in the habit of letting their stars walk. Who was the last long-time Brave to leave via free agency? Virtually no chance but, I'm also shocked they haven't resigned him yet. If he gets to FA AA needs to be all up in his grill until he signs on the dotted line.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Who are the available catchers this winter? Probably won't matter since it seems unlikely the catching position is addressed. Carlos Ruiz and McCann are the big names. I think it's mostly the typical veterans after those two.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Carlos Ruiz and McCann are the big names. I think it's mostly the typical veterans after those two. So JPA stays here forever....
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Other then Texas, what other teams could Bautista be a fit for? Cincinnati?
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 We should offer Bautista, Buerhle and Oliver to the Rangers for MLB ready players
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Bautista for Profar and anything else would be an absolute win!!!!!

over500 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Chop walks in the offseason. Bautista for Hannigan and Chapman? Reds are choosing to let him walk with Hamilton, Ludwick and Bruce. I don't think they want Bautista.
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Chop walks in the offseason. Bautista for Hannigan and Chapman? maybe even st louis? Teveras + ?
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Reds are choosing to let him walk with Hamilton, Ludwick and Bruce. I don't think they want Bautista. Ludwick isnt exactly a great player. Would be more valuable as a pinch hitter imo
over500 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Ludwick isnt exactly a great player. Would be more valuable as a pinch hitter imo Would have to be an 8m dollar pinch hitter
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 maybe even st louis? Teveras + ? There outfeild is full with jay but i can see them moving bautista to third
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Profar+ Odor would be a good haul for Bautista. Probably ask for Olt instead of Odor if it's Edwin though
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 I'm expecting a few optic-driven additions. Maybe AA lets JJ and his ugly ERA walk and signs Ervin Santana and Roy Halladay. Sign Uehara or Rodney. Buy Lind out and sign Morneau. IMO the chairs will be shuffled while adding very little. You must be careful about what you write. AA reads this forum, don't fill the AA's brain with crappy ideas.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Wait Nvm..we can just win next year with the same exact team, even though payroll will go up without adding anyone. Just disconnect the phone
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Reds are choosing to let him walk with Hamilton, Ludwick and Bruce. I don't think they want Bautista. Hamilton is s***. This isn't track and field, this is baseball, in this sport you must hit the damn ball.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 ESPN Deportes Radio Dominicana: Bautista + Boni for Feliz + Profar
Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ESPN Deportes Radio Dominicana: Bautista + Boni for Feliz + Profar Context, as in this is what they would do, this is a rumour?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 If AA can't at the very least address 2B and another solid SP, this team has no chance. If he is willing to admit the disaster that is JPA then things start to look even better. They won't sell tickets if nothing is done. AA will try to address the needs by either hitting the FA market or trading away more of the farm. It's either that or a rebuild and we know that isn't going to happen. Profar could at least slide into second base for the Jays and their problem up the middle is solved for the next decade with him at second.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Context, as in this is what they would do, this is a rumour? Just a rumor so far.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Good argument How was that a good argument? It was a s*****, incomplete argument in my view. You can't just look at some stats say "large sample size" and be done with it. You have to think too. Let's say your sport was baseball or hockey or whatever. And we made you play with a bunch of 18 year old (if I recall your 15/16 yo, around there). You might not exactly be dominant but if you held your own people would say you're pretty damn good. That's what Profar has been thus far in his life. This skinny little 160 pound **** occupies a spot on an MLB roster right now. Imagine how good he can be when he finishes puberty and looks like a man. That being said, I don't think Profar is nearly enough to fetch Bautista. He occupies an MLB spot now at 20, which means he'll be a FA by the time he's 26. That means he could walk before the Jays ever see his peak value, or take a chance and overpay someone for "potential".
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Hamilton is s***. This isn't track and field, this is baseball, in this sport you must hit the damn ball. Hamilton is the most overrated prospect in baseball. Or was...
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ESPN Deportes Radio Dominicana: Bautista + Boni for Feliz + Profar Feliz would be a nice reclamation project for the Jays if they worked him as a starter. I'd like that deal.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Hamilton is the most overrated prospect in baseball. Or was... Hamilton over Sano was a stupid idea.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ESPN Deportes Radio Dominicana: Bautista + Boni for Feliz + Profar I don't see it happening, but it makes me shake with excitement just thinking about it!
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Pittsburgh. What could we get from pittsburgh. Domt know much about their prospects
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Profar could at least slide into second base for the Jays and their problem up the middle is solved for the next decade with him at second. Yup. Plus it saves the team money now as well which will go a long way this winter to address other needs. It's really a no brainer if this is even on the table.
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ESPN Deportes Radio Dominicana: Bautista + Boni for Feliz + Profar A fake ken rosenthal twitter account reported this earlier today. Don't think there is any truth to this
