Brett Lawrie does not deserve to be in the major leagues right now. But if you bench him you replace him with an even worse player in Bonifacio.

Logically, can we really expect this team to be better next year? Dickey a year older, same with Buehrle, Johnson gone, inevitable bullpen regression.....

 

At this point the LOGICAL thing to do really IS to just admit failure and tear it down for as many prospects as you can get. Obviously, they can't do that without firing Beest and AA first, and I severely doubt the Board has the balls to do THAT, plus suffer the inevitable PR disaster/lost revenue due to collapsed 2014 ticket sales, but still, that would be the way to go at this juncture.
