Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 When it comes to clutch....Lawrie> bautista
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Jose's AB killed us What a leader Yep. Miggy Cabrera would of hit that 2-1 fastball to the right side GUARANf***INGTEED.
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Seems like forever since this team last won a ball game.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Unbelievable. Jays must have the lowest collect IQ in baseball. Ed and Jose have left a small village on the bases this series.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Why you guys so mad? This accelerates the start of the rebuild. Short term pain for long term gain.
DH12 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 seems dickey gives up at least 2hrs at rogers center
Tuco Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Yep. Miggy Cabrera would of hit that 2-1 fastball to the right side GUARANf***INGTEED. If the roles where reversed at it was the Rays trailing 1 with a runner on 2nd and no outs with Longoria up......I almost gurantee he puts the ball in play and most likely sucessfully gets the runner to 3rd.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Why you guys so mad? This accelerates the start of the rebuild. Short term pain for long term gain. AA's still going to be the one who does the rebuild so who cares.

Short term pain for long term gain. and how will they rebuild when NO ONE in the front office can evaluate talent??? they would literally have to fire everyone to start over and not make the same mistakes.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 nice to see zaun call out bautista and the offence
Tuco Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 LOL at Bautista taking a monster swing and clearing his hips to pull the ball. No wonder we dont win. Our supposed leader is trying to hit a HR in the most critical AB of the game instead of doing his job.
DH12 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 gibbons talk to bautista about his approach there probably not
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 and how will they rebuild when NO ONE in the front office can evaluate talent??? they would literally have to fire everyone to start over and not make the same mistakes. Bingo. Bring on a long losing streak to make that happen, I say.
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Most of us aren't mad, that ended a couple weeks ago. Ended for me when they hit 10-21. But I'm a natural pessimist, which saves me much stress and heartache in situations like this.

Most of us aren't mad, that ended a couple weeks ago. Smarts fans over here. Lose it's frustrating but we were aware of all this mess. But at least we expected advance from: Lawrie, Morrow, Gose, Romero and JJ Chronicle of a Death Foretold.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 so where are the Jays in Runners left in scoring position this year... http://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/runners-left-in-scoring-position-per-game 4th lowest. Maybe those saying we are the worst at it should watch more games of other teams.

Bautista and a prospect for profar Would love to see the jays go after Maikel Franco of the Phillies, but he would cost quite a bit
Knights4Cup Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 It's not called NL ball, it's just normal baseball. Any team besides the Tigers and Blue Jays would be bunting in Bautista's at bat. At the very least, you've gotta shorten up your swing and hit to the right side. Add another play that just epitomizes the lack of baseball knowledge form the front office to the team. Build for 2068!!!
Knights4Cup Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 man on 2nd, no out. you can practically guarantee yourself the tying run if you can exercise the basics (this team can't bunt, who knows why an MLB team can't bunt). Many teams would do that regardless of who was up at the plate. Relying on HR's is child's play so this is the product we have.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 No team in history would do that. Reyes is only the tying run and Bautista is one of the best hitters in the league. You're only saying this in hindsight. actually its funny how everyone on here gives so much credit to maddon and "rays ball" even though they go on and say how much they hate bunting blah blah blah. i wouldn't put it past maddon to bunt in that situation.

Bautista and a prospect for profar Would love to see the jays go after Maikel Franco of the Phillies, but he would cost quite a bit First, it's not going to happen. There will not be a firesale until AA is gone. Secondly, why do you want Franco...you need someone who makes injured Melky look like a sprinter. I can't take any minor league hitter who moves around as much as Franco seriously. IMO, he will be Lawrie in the bigs...a good start but when the book is out on him that he can't hit slow stuff away, he'll fall apart.

I don't know, Longoria has only bunted 3 times in his career all were attempts at hits (successful twice)

This shouldn't be on AA, the jays have just simply under achieved. Franco seems like a big bat and i could see him playing at 1st base
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Is Rogers seriously going to continue to milk the WS wins from 20 years ago? It looks like it 'cause that's what they're showing right now, good thing I turned it off before I broke my tv, lol.

If I am don't know if I will have the wits to hook myself into the Rogers complete virtual reality seats. Don't know if they will have that technology at the old folks home. Even if they have the complete virtual reality system in the old folks home, I bet us old folks will only be able to afford the 5th deck. (you do know that once these systems are invented Rogers will have ways of setting up tiers). Anyway I'm rambling. Let's aim for 2055. I will only be 80 and that may be a good age to enjoy blue jays baseball. Still with it enough to follow the game, to decrepid and cranky to want to do much else.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Allen Craig LF game winning catch lol True Cardinal

Rays ball comes down to three basic things.... 1. They understand that human beings get older and often bet on young men (they are cheap which forces them to understand). 2. They understand buy low, sell high and often bet on men who are (temporarrily) down. 3. They don't hate on base percentage. The rest of it is window dressing. Believe in those 3 things and you will have a chance.
