I am all for gutting the pen if it means we get some relevant prospects. The priority right now needs to be fixing 2B or 3B, C and adding a legitimate front line SP. We have plenty of options to run a solid pen out there.

You don't see our pen lose many games like this, tough loss. As for the comments on Lawrie, give me a break?! He was rushed back from injury with virtually no ST, even AA admitted to this error. He'll be fine going forward. Heck he went yard and stung one the opposite way, just was right at the second basemen.

He's been pretty unimpressive, I don't think I've seen him slide for a ball once this year - what kind of SS doesn't slide?

I don't think he's had a chance to settle much though... turf being pretty much new for him... coming back from injury, then the break... I'll judge him at the end of the season.
