Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 O's f***ing us again and again and again
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 @Wilnerness590: Juan Perez throws a perfect bot7. Now 19 2/3 innings w/o allowing an earned run to begin his #Bluejays career. #Jays down 8-3, Matusz in. Just goes to show how little impact a solid bullpen can have when your SP is s***
leaffie Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 there hits were bigger than our hits?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Down 5 runs, against a lefty, with a shift. Just put down a few push bunts and get on base for crying out loud (Lind and Rasmus)
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Just goes to show how little impact a solid bullpen can have when your SP is s*** don't forget s*** offense
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 don't forget s*** offense They are s*** when you really need them, but overall... hard to say they are s***
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Look everybody, it's Mr. Positivity! . . . . . . . . GO AWAY Oh yeah, I'm really loving the way the team is performing, the terrible offseason moves, losing all the prospects for old, injury prone players on giant contracts, I'm all smiles. Seriously, the O's pitching as a whole is terrible, and you honestly can't say that isn't true without letting hatred cloud your judgement. They still have one of the best offenses in the MLB. So what, you think the Yankees' team is all stars too?

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Wagner showing some gas there!
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Yanks have like $70 million off the books this offseason. I can see them going HAM and trading for Headley plus signing Choo, Hart, and Garza or some s***. Like the offseason they added CC, Tex, and Burnett. Can you elaborate on the $70mil off the books?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Just goes to show how little impact a solid bullpen can have when your SP is s*** LOL So true When you're behind 5-0 right at the start of the game, you're going to lose 95% of the time no matter how good your bullpen is.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Hughes, Pettitte, Granderson, Youkilis, Kuroda, Rivera They will almost certainly re sign some of those guys
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 You're an idiot. Yanks don't have the prospects for Headley(Padres want a lot for him)--and Choo will cost a draft pick, as will Garza(unless Chicago trades him). Kuroda won't be back--and he'll likely demand more money if he does return. A-Rod at DH? Yeah right--he's more likely to be released than ever play another game for the Yankees. And Choo isn't an option--Wells is under contract until 2014, and You also forget that Cano will wipe out a good chunk of the savings--he's going for Pujols/A-Rod money. Matt Garza is a .500 pitcher at best--not to mention he belongs in the NL, not the AL. He also stinks in NY--his numbers in 2010 at Yankee Stadium as a member of the Rays were awful. Jeter's no guarantee to return in 2014--he may choose retirement instead, depending on health. Ditto for Pettite and Kuroda.

Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 They'll probably bring back Kuroda. The savings: Granderson (15), Youkilis (12), Pettitte (12), Rivera (10), Hughes (7). That's $56 million off the books for players that have combined for 3.5 WAR. I suspect we'll see something like: RF - Choo SS - Jeter 1B - Teixeira 2B - Cano 3B - Headley DH - Rodriguez CF - Gardner LF - Ichiro C - Stewart SP - Sabathia SP - Kuroda SP - Garza SP - Nova SP - Phelps/Pineda/Pettitte And that team is a fair bit cheaper than this year's. The Yankees will be back. Choo is so f***ing good. Imagine our line-up with Choo, pretty damn lopsided!
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 rogers should just sell the Jays they are money losing losers The Jays are making Rogers tens of millions every year and it's not even debatable really. That's a really uninformed comment.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Matt Garza is a .500 pitcher at best Thank you for that, I feel enlightened now.
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Try a 62-62 career record. And Garza has a 6.17 ERA at Yankee Stadium--signing him to pitch there would be as bad as signing Carl Pavano back in 2005. Garza should stay away from Texas as well--his numbers are over 6 as well there. Despite a 5-1 record this year, he has not faced a quality opponent other than Cincinnati. Anyone who gives Anibal Sanchez money to Garza is going to regret it.
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Exactly. The Jays provide a lot of programming for Rogers..if they were losing money, our payroll wouldn't be north of $120M.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Felix Hernandez has a 107-80 record. NOT VERY ACE-LIKE! Also a 4.97 ERA in Yankee Stadium for his career.
