You have to be daft if you think that .278/.321/.362/.684 is an acceptable line for a terrible fielding (at least while his legs are wonky) left fielder.
8D Verified Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Can't wait for the list of names!! I wonder how many more clinics like these are out there. Good for the yanks. I normally don't fell for them, but A-rod has been a super douche.

Would be really nice if they had that giant financial hole for the next 30 years or however long the stupid contract runs.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I like how Bud Selig destroys the popularity of the league to improve his legacy.

A healthy Melky even without the junk is still a better LF than any player Toronto has in the organization. Why do people care so much about the power stats? When he was playing he was always hitting leadoff or #2 save for a couple days before he was DL'ed. The OBP isn't great but again, I'd like to see him healthy. Though I doubt we ever see him again as there's less than 100 games left in the season and AA will probably pull the plug.

Left field is where you stick the guy who can't field for s***, but hits the ball hard (and hopefully frequently). You cannot put a .684 OPS in left field and seriously expect to compete.

No, he was 'playing like a rolling piece of crappy turd. No offence, no defence and couldnt run faster than Bengie Molina in his prime. Injuries or not, he hasnt been an improvement on all our crappy left fielders we've had the past few years.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 The can nail them without a positive test if they have evidence. The evidence is some paperwork from a shady business operation and testimony from questionable characters who have changed stories. Yes, common sense says they bought steroids but powerful attorneys and the union should tear it to shreds. This appeal will be a lot easier than Braun's.

Extra tidbit added Good point it may be tough to have it hold up in court
LeafsJays Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Why do people hate Melky so much? He was leading the team in Batting avg when he was placed on the DL

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Why do people hate Melky so much? He was leading the team in Batting avg when he was placed on the DL Probably trolling but in Melky's defense, he did post a respectable .821 OPS in May before he hobbled through June. I don't think he's a lost cause.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 How many of these players are at the all-star game?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 We haven't seen a healthy Melky yet, I not sure he's going to be great but like Connor said he was above average in May. I'm not a Melky hater or fan.

flafson Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I wonder how many Yankees players are on that list, by the sound of things, they should be the leaders in the department. Not sure if you guys remember but when Reyes went down and the whole team was s***, Melky was the only one who was hitting. He played when he was hurt and it didn't help his fielding either.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 It's got to be Cano. Can has been accused previously of PEDs.. I always thought Cano was a big roid user... Wasn't there a quote somewhere from EE that said when he trained with Cano over that one winter, that Cano looked like Superman with his shirt off or something? Cano was never projected to be this good, and I'm not saying the projections are always spot on because they're definitely not, but to me, he's a definite... I also thought Posada was a roid head too, but he's retired now so whatever
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Are they going to revoke the Dominican WBC title? Not many good Canadian boys being discussed here!

It’s about future players and the game of baseball" “I will continue to take the high road. We won because the truth was on my side. I was a victim of a process that completely broke down and failed as it was applied to me in this case." - Ryan Braun, Feb 24, 2012 The guy gets off on a technicality and a team of lawyers then makes arrogant statements like that to rub their noses in it. It's no wonder the guy painted a bullseye on his back.
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I'm guessing this never happens.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 So what happend to this? I wonder if the leak pushed back the timeline. I want this over and dobe with. But I guess if 20+ players are suspended it would take over the season. The players are going to appeal, the suspensions will be for the year 2014.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Michael Weiner “I can tell you, if we have a case where there really is overwhelming evidence, that a player committed a violation of the program, our fight is going to be that they make a deal,” Weiner said without referring to specific players. “We’re not interested in having players with overwhelming evidence that they violated the (drug) program out there. Most of the players aren’t interested in that. We’d like to have a clean program.” Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/i-team/weiner-warns-drug-cheats-face-major-road-block-article-1.1401845#ixzz2ZPlof0J4
flafson Verified Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 During the all star they said it will happen during the off season. Not sure if it was cause of the leak or just because they figure everyone is going to appeal anyway.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 From a financial standpoint it makes no sense to do this now. It'll just hurt interest in the game down the stretch and the TV ratings will suffer. They'll bury it in the offseason and give fans 4-5 months to digest it first.
