Man if Drabek can keep the walks minimal, this could be a big boost to our pitching depth for next year.

That is a gigantic if.

When he first came up he threw a nasty slider and basically abandoned it and started throwing nothing but f***ing cutters.

I don't know if the slider was giving him arm issues or if it was an org thing (likely) but he should go back to what made him f***ing successful in the minors.

JPA cant catch a slider and JPA wont call what he cant catch, so it's not all Drabek

He's had a few starts in his career that make you say wow. He needs to be a starter going forward, hopefully he cuts the walks down.

It isn't a question of stuff

well do need to recognize the fact this is High A not Major League.

Absolutely. I'm remotely optimistic, but until we see this at AA or AAA, consistently keeping the walks under control while striking out his share, there's no real reason to expect anything from Drabek going forward

No reason to move Drabek to New Hamsphire until he's up to a full workload. While they're easing him in keep him with all the personnel in Dunedin.

slow down bro, slow down

Drabek and Hutchison should be moving slowly.

Both should get a start or two after mid September.

Drabek's zone% last year? 33%.

Words can't really describe how bad that is for a major league pitcher.

Anticipating Drabek's return is like being happy about signing Delmon Young.

I'd still give him one more shot... Not like we have a choice at this point... Our staff is hideous at the moment... Gonna need all the help we can get next year

This team is great at ruining top prospects, aren't they?

38%

Not good but still a big gap.

Honestly though, Johnson has not been that bad this year. A smart GM would try to lowball him on a contract right about now (2 or 3 years). But our obese idiot will be blinded by his ERA to even think about doing such a thing.
