He only has two years left of control which definitely plays a factor. As well, it seems like the Kings have been shopping him for the last 18 months now for an obvious reason and I'm sure other teams are aware of the risk that comes with Cousins. It definitely would have to involve JV + Ross or Powell + high draft picks no doubt.

 

Yea I'm not sure what the risks are. Him being a "headcase" still nets you an elite player. Max contracts for free agents are for 4 years so only netting him for 2 isn't that big of a deal.

 

I say this all the time but I feel like it's almost impossible to overpay for a superstar in the NBA right now.

The Carmelo to the Knicks trade is one I'd say the Nuggets did better on.

Looks hurt. He has like zero mobility right now. Think Bebe gets most of the min in the 2nd half.

In JV's defense, it often looks like he's the only one trying on the glass. Yeah his defense isn't good, and his mobility is noticeably lower, but he's carrying the load on the glass as the only legit big man on the court.

Lowry is so friggen good. +28 on the night and knocking down 3s every which way. They just about have to offer him the 5yr max even if the end of that contract sucks.

Only saw bits and pieces of the game but that blow by from powell off of crowder early on was impressive

Raps have some nice young roles players. Powell, Bebe look like good rotational players/starters while Poertle and Siakam can develop into that in the next year or 2.

 

Masai has done a great job building the team and has a great development system.

They're basically the Clippers at this point. Very fun team to watch and really good but would take something very unlikely to even reach the finals

Still this is a top 5 team in the NBA and you can get tickets for really cheap on the secondary market. I think if the team is playing like this come playoffs they'd have a 35-40% chance of knocking off the Cavs which is pretty damn good. Lowry has never been healthy in the playoffs yet.

Not sure how seriously to take this but Basketball Reference has the Raptors as the favourite for the top seed in the EC and also the conference winners. 24.6% chance to win it all behind only Golden State. Of course their computers are also spitting out only a 3.2% chance for the Spurs so colour me a bit skeptical. Their models must be highly reliant on point differential because right now Raps > Cavs and Rockets > Spurs when it comes to points and that's reflected in the playoff outcomes too.
