I'm not a fan of DeRozan at all but the way the NBA is right now, he's not even a bad contract

A full strength GS team probably won't lose a game all season.

 

What a joke the NBA has become when a top 3 player feels the need to join a 73 win team. If they do win, it will be the most meaningless title in history

The Warriors will struggle more than you think. Durant is used to taking 20+ shots a night. Where will those come from? The talent on that team is amazing...not doubt. I just think it'll take a little getting used to cause you have so many players that are stars...adjusting their roles to welcome another superstar will take some time. Remember how it took Miami a long while to figure it out once the Big 3 got there. Even Cleveland, when Lebron came back struggled for a bit with their own Big 3.

 

It's a nice problem to have though.

A bunch of perfect things had to happen for KD to be able to sign in GS in the first place. Curry is in the last year of a ridiculously team friendly contract, Klay and Green already signed long term and the massive Cap increase. This is completely different than the big 3 in Miami with no one else around them.

 

Also lets not bash KD for joining GS, free market he can go anywhere. Who wouldn't want to go live in one of the nicest cities and be on the greatest NBA team of all time? There will be nights when they make 25 3s lol

I agree we shouldn't bash Durant, its the NBA's fault super teams even happen in the first place.

 

Having said that, there is something to be said for the idea that just pursuing championships regardless of how you get them isn't commendable. Achievements aren't measured in a vaccum, their worth is determined by what you put into them and how hard it was to get there. Joining a 73 win team and winning a championship is not that laudable of an achievement not only for KD but for the other Warrior stars. And please lets not compare them to the Heat big 3 or the Celtics Big 3. Its not a fair comparison at all, Lebron joined Wade on teh tail end of his career and that Heat team didn't have anywhere near the depth of GS, same thing with the Celtics

Sorry. I was under the impression he had to stay in OKC and that's why I was so pissed. Who cares? f***in' bash the guy if you want. This is sports, it's fun to bash.

 

Is there any scenario where the Cavs could get Westbrook to make the year more interesting?
