Caper Verified Member Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Ok, so who were those *******s that said the Raptors were closer to Indiana and Detroit than the Cavs a few days ago? I didn't say that.. but I think I would have agreed with it. I just can't get over how well they have shot. It's like they are feeling zero pressure because the season is now officially wildly successful regardless what happens.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 that was the quintessential raptors win. come out early and take a nice lead into the 2nd half. immediately blow it all in the 3rd quarter. then keep their head above water with hot shooting in 4Q to get the win. cant tell you how many times i watched this happen throughout the season. its great when we win but those 3Q always kill me, and now that its happening in the playoffs... fuhgeddaboudit. I think that is how basketball goes. Do you know how many years I would see the Raptors cutting into a lead in the 4th, only to see their throats stepped on in the final minutes? That went on for years and years.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Stephen A. Smith has got to be the biggest blowhard I've ever seen. I can't even look at a tiny ass picture of the guy's face on Twitter without building up rage. He would fit in very well around here actually, as he speaks in complete absolutes. Which likely is because he is such a blowhard.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Interesting read from Wilbon on blacks and analytics in sports. http://theundefeated.com/features/mission-impossible-african-americans-analytics/
TRM Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Lads the Raptors may win more playoff games than the Warriors. This is not a drill.
Frag Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Interesting read from Wilbon on blacks and analytics in sports. http://theundefeated.com/features/mission-impossible-african-americans-analytics/ The same could be argued about white people and analytics in hockey. Not many players accept it. However, it usually is the result of either the analysis contains little useful information for the players or it is poorly communicated to them.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Lads the Raptors may win more playoff games than the Warriors. This is not a drill. Aaaaaaaaaand jinxed

TRM Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I haven't been watching this series but how the f*** is OKC crushing golden state? This is nuts GS is not playing D. Also Draymond tripped Kanter earlier, should be suspended for Game 5 (if it's a flagrant, as it should be) Odds he gets a flagrant....?

Frag Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I've heard that Curry is still battling with an elbow injury. Hmm, sounds familiar...

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I've heard that Curry is still battling with an elbow injury. Hmm, sounds familiar... + the knee injury
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Hopefully the Warriors can win a few more. If we CAN make it to the next round, it would be nice if the other team didn't have a week off first again.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Shut up. He didn't even say anything wrong
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 He didn't even say anything wrong GD's lips around a phallic object
crazy47larry Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Interesting read from Wilbon on blacks and analytics in sports. http://theundefeated.com/features/mission-impossible-african-americans-analytics/ wow i loathe everything about that article. there are so many holes in it. the main one being that he frames his argument as if it was a race thing when it really is just an age thing (old man writes an article lamenting new school techniques... simply shocking). he even mentions how the best player in the leage, steph curry, dominates an advanced stat that he then chooses to ignore. like nerdy sports fans start and end every conversation with WAR and thats all that matters. like they only watch the numbers change as opposed to the actual basketball being played. wilbon's a known troglodyte on these things anyways so of course he is going to be biased against them. also that ending about dwight howard is sweet icing on the cake for me. dwight howard was 61st in PER, 69th in WS/48 and 91st in VORP. advanced stats have always shown how overrated a guy like Howard is but Wilbon talks to a friend of his who says how advanced stats love howard. seriously f*** wilbon, all his dumb old friends, and this article. advanced stats are for smart people, and younger people can learn + apply these newer techniques easier. its not a race thing. its an old codger 'get off my lawn thing.' http://www.clipsnation.com/2016/5/24/11764852/a-response-to-michael-wilbon-on-sports-analytics
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I stopped reading that article when he referred to WHIP as an advanced stat in the opening paragraph.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 It's weird. Trouba stated pretty clearly there was zero point in even playing the games, should have just handed GS the trophy
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I stopped reading that article when he referred to WHIP as an advanced stat in the opening paragraph. I stopped reading at "Wilbon".
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Is Wilbon related to Wilner in any way?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I stopped reading that article when he referred to WHIP as an advanced stat in the opening paragraph. Don't blame him for not knowing! He's black!! They don't talk about advanced stats!!
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Damn James Johnson back at it again with cryptic instagram posts
Caper Verified Member Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Question. Could Bismack and Val share the court together? Or is it just a thing that they are both centers and you can't have them on together.
