I've kind of developed a fondness for this raptors team during these playoffs. They play a slow paced grind-it-out defensive style, it's f***ing ugly but I appreciate the toughness of guys like JV, Biyombo, Joseph, Lowry, Carroll, Powell. Just don't re-sign Derozan in the offseason and I will enjoy this team very much next season even if they don't have a high ceiling.

SG = Norman Powell - Terrence Ross

SF = DeMarre Carroll - ??????????

PF = ?????????? - Patrick Patterson

C = Jonas Valanciunas - ??????????

 

Our Forward rotation is really weak so that is where I would put most of the money if it was up to me. Ross and Powell should not be spending so much time at SF, neither should DeRozan honestly.

 

I'd be fine spending big on a PF to replace DeRozan. A few people have mentioned Al Horford in the past and I think that would be a great signing myself. I dont know who else is out there right now.

 

I also would be fine spreading the wealth around on those 3 empty spots. Could maybe keep Biyombo, make sure we have more than 1 trustworthy SF on the roster (Carroll plays PF a lot anyways), and then get the best PF you can with the money left after that.

If all Powell does this offseason is work on his finishing around the rim by using both hands and driving and finishing around traffic, he's probably immediately already better than DD. And by all accounts Powell is a guy who really works hard.

We can replace him with one of the youngsters. Last year there wasn't a drop-off when the team was playing without Derozan due to injury.

i forgot about the pick. that sounds perfect to me though. ideally we could get a SF behind Carroll so there isn't much pressure to develop him but if we can come away with an upgrade for Patterson in the draft that would be fine as well. i'm on board. draft a Forward Masai.

players ranked 8-12 are all PF/C types. Jamal Murray would be cool obviously if he dropped (DX has him #6). i dont see it happening and we dont really need it but it would be cool.
