burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Scola really cost us tonight on a number of opportunities. Zero contributions on defense or on the glass, he's a bigman FFS he shouldn't have to tap the ball to another teammate when he could just grab the rebound himself. Yeah if he didn't add the 3 pointer to his game he would be completely useless. Even as is he is not good and I think come playoff time the lack of depth at the 4 will haunt them.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Holy f*** @ the ineptitude of every bigman of ours not named Jonas Valanciunas.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Holy f*** @ the ineptitude of every bigman of ours not named Jonas Valanciunas. Patrick Patterson is still salvageable imo
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Patterson and Biyombo are both good options off the bench and neither have a big salary hit. Scola's the only problem
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Biyombo is infuriating on the offensive end but eh, he's a nice cheap bench piece. Patterson has looked a lot better since the start of the year. His mobility and the fact that he's actually going for boards this year (dunno how often he's actually getting them but he's more aggressive in the process) are useful. Hopefully he finds his stroke again f*** Luis Scola

Patterson is 10th in the league in most +20 games and #1 of all bench players

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Terrance Ross and Corey Joseph are also right up there. Toronto's bench is just flat out better than most teams. Won't mean much come playoff time and starters are playing close to 40 minutes a game
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 The Spurs' bench would be, like, the 3rd seed in the East
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 WTH did ESPN do to their NBA Boxscores? The new format is complete trash. I mean its not NHL.com bad but still...

SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hmm. I wonder who his most frequent teammates are. He also comes off the bench which weakens his competition. I would think its because of the Lowry + bench lineup. They crush pretty much every game. Lowry, Joseph, Ross, Patterson, Biyombo
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 6ers going to offer .087 WS/48, negative BPM, 0.5 VORP Dennis Schroeder the max this offseason after failing to acquire him at the trade deadline This is like watching Abom stick with his calculations when they tell him to grab Jarred Cosart
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Lowe from ESPN confirmed the Rockets actually offered Dwight for Jonas. Massai hung up right away
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Lowe from ESPN confirmed the Rockets actually offered Dwight for Jonas. Massai hung up right away Guess I forgot to post that. I haven't watched Dwight but if I had to blindly guess the stats and eyetets, I would guess Jonas isn't that far off Dwight himself at this point. He's getting up in years. Obvious lowball
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Smith, Stauskas and a first rounder for Schroeder and the Hawks said no???
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 smith and stauskas are garbage
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 They probably offered the Thunders or Heat Pick and the Hawks rightly told them to go away

GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 smith and stauskas are garbage Schroeder is garbage, seemingly
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Schroeder is garbage, seemingly Obviously those stats don't paint him well but he is in the majority of their positive net lineups, I don't think he's quite as bad as you're saying. http://stats.nba.com/league/lineups/#!/advanced/?sort=MIN&dir=1&Season=2015-16&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&TeamID=1610612737
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Schroeder is garbage, seemingly 22 year old black guy has more potential than the 27 year old black guy and the 22 year old white guy
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 22 year old black guy has more potential than the 27 year old black guy and the 22 year old white guy Can take a 20 year old black guy and keep him for 4 years for a fraction of what other teams will be playing for a guy you're not keeping beyond this year?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I'm assuming the pick is heavily protected.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I'm assuming the pick is heavily protected. No they have like 4 picks. It would just be a reasonable mid-late first pick I would assume. Unless I'm wrong. Which happens. Still Schroder's stats suxxxxxx and unless he just looks a lot better in person a protected pick even seems fair
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 schroder has some good skills and is 22. He could probably fetch more than a mid first plus 2 scrubs.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 schroder has some good skills and is 22. He could probably fetch more than a mid first plus 2 scrubs. Really? He doesn't shoot 3s well and he's a PG. He's an RFA at the end of the year too obviously. I don't know why a team would pay more than a mid first. Is he a good defender?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Luis Scola on KT is working out exactly as it did last time...
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Really? He doesn't shoot 3s well and he's a PG. He's an RFA at the end of the year too obviously. I don't know why a team would pay more than a mid first. Is he a good defender? He's not anything special on defense but he's not a terrible shooter and can drive to the rim/pass reasonable well last time I checked. Again, he's 22, black and quick. GMs pay a lot for that.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Fair enough. You could always just take a younger cheaper quicker black guy in the draft though! Anyway these refs are f***ing garbage.
